Lone Oak Picnic returns bigger than ever
Cunningham, TN – Clarksville, TN – The Lone Oak Picnic returned this past weekend, for the first time since 2019, bringing back all the things that have made it a community tradition for more than one hundred years, great music, lively conversation, and some of the area’s best BBQ.
The Central Civitan Club hosted this year’s event, the 114th Annual Lone Oak Picnic, and CCC’s Larry Pitts had the honor of introducing to the audience approximately two dozen candidates who are currently running in local political races. All of whom were eager to speak directly to Montgomery County voters.
Dunbar Cave State Park to host Unknown Realms Cave Tour on Saturday, July 23rd
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, July 23rd, 2022, Dunbar Cave State Park will hold the “Unknown Realms” cave tour.
This tour is designed to be a follow-up to our standard cave tour. We venture beyond what you have already seen and explore some of the less frequented areas of the cave. Paths that one time was part of the old commercial tour but have been out of use for 50 years or more.
Park rangers will discuss the history and legends of the cave that developed as Dunbar Cave became the social hotspot of the 19th century.

The Ace Party Band livens up Downtown Clarksville
Montgomery County, TN – The Ace Party Band played at Downtown @ Sundown Friday night, July 15th to the delight of everyone that attended. The weather was alittle warm at first, but a nice cool breeze helped cool things down.
“Tonight we have the Ace Party Band at Downtown @ Sundown. The crowd is super pumped. The band is playing a mix of genres. They have everyone up dancing and singing,” said Elizabeth Quinton Downtown Commons event planning manager.
2022 Montgomery County Fair kicks off July 28th
Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Fair at the Clarksville Speedway will be held from July 28th through August 6th, 2022.
The Montgomery County Fair is gearing up for another fun-filled week at the Clarksville Speedway. The seven nights of entertainment include a midway, interactive animal attractions, games, food, and events on the racetrack each night.
Clarksville’s First Thursday Art Walk rescheduled to July 13th, 2022
Clarksville, TN – Because of the 4th of July holiday last week, the First Thursday Art Walk has been rescheduled for Thursday, July 14th, 2022.
Produced by The Downtown Clarksville Association, First Thursday Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour spanning a 5-block radius that combines visual art, live music, engaging events and more in the heart of Downtown Clarksville.
Montgomery County Parks and Recreation receives grant for a Community Garden at Rotary Park
Montgomery County, TN – On July 11th, 2022 representatives from AARP formally awarded a Community Challenge Grant of $12,900 to install a community garden near the Wade Bourne Nature Center at Rotary Park.
Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Natural Resource and Program Manager Katie Netti and former CMC Green Certification Manager Carlye Sommers, co-authored the grant application in March 2022 and received notification of the award in June 2022.
