Clarksville Arts ad Heritage Development Council seeks submissions for 2021 Cultural Calendar
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development Council (AHDC) is putting out a call to artists who are interested in having their work featured in the 13th annual Cultural Calendar. Each month will feature an artist’s work and highlight upcoming arts and heritage events.
Submitted work will be juried to determine which piece is featured each month, as well as which artwork appears on the cover. As in years past, calendars will be available through AHDC’s website, as well as in the Customs House Museum’s “Seasons” gift shop and other locations around town.
Historic Collinsville Pioneer Settlement changes Hours starting July 10th
Clarksville, TN – Starting Friday, July 10th, 2020, Historic Collinsville Pioneer Settlement will be open Friday-Saturday, 11:00am – 4:00pm and Sunday, 1:00pm– 4:00pm.
Tours are self-guided and self-paced. Visitors receive a map at the Visitor Center.

Clarksville, TN – All aboard! The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is expanding its reopening plan and will now be open on Sundays beginning July 12th, 2020 from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
COVID-19 Coronavirus safety guidelines are still in place including recommending guests wear face masks, reserve their time tickets before visiting and utilize hand sanitizer stations around the Museum. While walk-ins are welcome, there are a limited number of tickets available per day.
Clarksville Downtown Market to hold Military Appreciation Day

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department to hold several Independence Day programs
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Independence Day celebration will look different this year amid health concerns from the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
While no fireworks celebration is planned, The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is preparing multiple events and activities leading up to Independence Day.
Events include: Toddler Fourth of July Craft Class, Independence Day Attire creation, Yankee Doodle Dandy Crafts & Snacks, Star-Spangled Family Non-Cooking Class and the Firecracker Virtual 5K.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation seeks land for New Recreation Center
Clarksville Parks and Recreation requests proposals for 10-acre sites
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a suitable parcel of at least 10 acres of land for a proposed new regional recreation center.
The City of Clarksville Purchasing Department has posted the formal Request for Proposals, which defines Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s preferred minimum requirements and solicits proposals with adequate information to evaluate the land offered by potential sellers or donors.

Customs House Museum Celebrates the American West with Its Wonders of the West Exhibit
Clarksville, TN – If you’ve recently stepped into the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center since its reopening to the public, then you’ve probably been instantly transported to the American West in the Museum’s Kimbrough Gallery.
Wonders of the West, an exhibit sponsored by Heimansohn Steel & Salvage, celebrates America’s Western culture through scenic landscapes, wonderful crafts by Native American artisans and a tribute to the Acme Boot Company.
Fort Defiance to hold “Music at the Fort”, June 27th
Restrictions will be in place to limit capacity
Clarksville, TN – Grab a blanket and pack a picnic lunch for Music at the Fort, an outdoor musical event Saturday, June 27th, 2020 at Fort Defiance Civil War Park.
“This will be our first event since the pandemic, so we’re certainly glad to be back,” said William Parker, Historical Interpreter at Fort Defiance. “It’ll be a great opportunity for patrons to see the park and hear some music from the past.”
Guests will enjoy a string band playing music of the 19th century.
Clarksville Downtown Market to hold Frontline Heroes Appreciation Day this Saturday
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announces that the Clarksville Downtown Market will host a Frontline Heroes Appreciation Day on Saturday, June 13th, 2020. Participating vendors will offer special discounts to frontline workers. The first 50 frontline workers to visit the Clarksville Parks and Recreation tent will receive a free Clarksville Downtown Market T-shirt.
In addition, everyone who visits the Clarksville Parks and Recreation tent will have an opportunity to win a $100.00 Walmart gift card.
