Clarksville, TN – The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is located in Historic Downtown Clarksville, Tennessee. Come explore an entire city block featuring large gallery spaces filled with fine art, science, and history.

Fort Defiance Interpretive Center to hold Surrender of Clarksville event on February 18th
Clarksville, TN – Fort Defiance Interpretive Center will host a living history event on Saturday, February 18th, from 10:00am to 3:00pm to commemorate the surrender of Fort Defiance to Union soldiers in 1862.
The surrender of Clarksville was a significant event in Civil War history, opening the South to Union forces and the capture of Nashville. Uniformed soldiers will provide living history and cannon-firing demonstrations. Visitors are invited to tour the permanent exhibit and view the film, “Crossroads of Change.”
”The surrender event is one of the biggest and oldest annual events at Fort Defiance,” said Roxanne Jenkins, Associate Historical Interpreter At Fort Defiance. “There will be something for everyone to enjoy. The movie “Crossroads of Change” provides the unique perspective of an eye witness account to this time in the city’s history.
“Dreamgirls” brings sounds of Motown, R&B to the Roxy Regional Theatre, February 9th – 25th
Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre at the corner of Franklin and First in historic downtown Clarksville will be alive with the sounds of Motown and R&B when the hit musical Dreamgirls opens on Thursday, February 9th, at 7:00pm.
In keeping with the theatre’s pay-what-you-can opening night tradition, all tickets not pre-sold at the regular price will go on sale at 6:30pm that evening for a $5.00 minimum donation.
Inspired by Motown and R&B legends of the 1960s and ’70s, Dreamgirls follows the rising stardom of the Dreamettes, an all-girl singing trio from Chicago: the phenomenally talented, but demanding Effie White (Karley Purnell), the beautiful and appealing Deena Jones (Olivia White), and the eager, romantic Lorrell Robinson (Sierra Wilson). The three best friends team up with driven, demanding manager Curtis Taylor, Jr. (Kyle Javon), who is determined to see their — and his — star rise.

Author Mark Zimmerman to speak at Fort Defiance
Clarksville, TN – Author and amateur historian Mark Zimmerman will speak on Saturday, January 21st at Fort Defiance starting at 11:00am. His lecture will detail more about the role Middle Tennessee and Nashville played in the Western Theater and Nashville’s importance in the Civil War.
The event titled, “Fortress Nashville: The Key to Victory in the Western Theater” is based on his recent book, “Fortress Nashville: Pioneers, Engineers, Mechanics, Contrabands & US Colored Troops.” The book was recently named a Top Ten Book of 2022 by Civil War Books and Authors.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation to hold New Event, Clarksville Social

Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” returns to the Roxy Regional Theatre for 20th year
Clarksville, TN – “Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting and occasionally angry,” Eve Ensler’s wildly popular series of monologues about women and performed by women is back for the twentieth year with the Roxy Regional Theatre’s annual presentation of The Vagina Monologues, January 13th – January 21st.
Directed by Melissa Schaffner, chief of the NAF Support Division at Fort Campbell MWR, and produced by Ryan Bowie, this year’s presentation is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Jill Eichhorn, a longtime supporter of and frequent performer in the Roxy’s production of The Vagina Monologues.
