Red River Breeze in Concert at the Roxy Regional Theatre this Sunday, December 11th

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – In what has become an annual holiday tradition, Clarksville’s own acoustic Celtic band is bringing their unique brand of Christmas cheer to the Roxy Regional Theatre at the corner of Franklin and First in historic downtown Clarksville for the seventh year! 

Performing traditional holiday tunes and carols with a Celtic flair, Red River Breeze will present ‘Tis the Season! at the Roxy Regional Theatre for one afternoon only, this Sunday, December 11th, 2022 at 2:00pm.

Tickets are already going quickly for this much-anticipated follow-up to the group’s previous concerts at the Roxy, which have consistently sold out.

Montgomery County Parks announces Santa to visit Wade Bourne Nature Center on Saturdays

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department will host their second annual Saturday with Santa series for the first three Saturdays of December from 11:00am to 2:00pm in the Wade Bourne Nature Center at Rotary Park.

Each week, a Santa representing a different nationality will be at the Wade Bourne Nature Center, bringing joy to visiting children.

Santa Shedrich Webster will kick off the fun this week. Children can speak Spanish or English with Santa Catarino Guzman on December 10th and visit with Santa Roger Lewis on December 17th.

An Evening With The ArtistClarksville, TN – River City Clay had the opportunity to host a fundraiser for Empty Bowls on November 26th, 2022. This event showcased work by local photographer Tony Centonze along with a silent auction. The silent auction allowed Clarksville photographers and businesses to help with the fundraiser.

River City Clay will be joining other Downtown Clarksville businesses in the monthly First Thursday Art Walk. Their first show, featuring photography by Tony Centonze, will be on Thursday, December 1st.

Recognized for her expressive brushwork, contemporary compositions and intelligent use of color, Lori Putnam paints small to medium-sized works en plein air and creates large paintings in her studio in Charlotte, Tennessee. Her new exhibit, Far from Home, includes 29 new works inspired by her travels.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Christmas on the Cumberland returns to McGregor Park

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announces that the banks of the Cumberland River will once again be lit with over a million dazzling lights as Christmas on the Cumberland, presented by Blue Cord Realty, returns to McGregor Park Riverwalk.

The grand opening will be on November 22nd from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at McGregor Park Riverwalk and Museum. The official lighting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the lights being turned on shortly after.

 

 

The family-friendly event will include:

  • Visit with Santa.

  • Free cookies for the first 400 are provided by Chealsey’s Cookie Jar.

  • Dance performances by Cast & Crowns and Natalie’s Dance Network. 

  • Food vendors Countryside Coffee, Green Plantain LLC, Sassy’s, Poppin’ in the City, and Big Kahuna’s Island Grill LLC.

Following the grand opening, the light display will be open nightly through January 2nd, 2022.

  • 5:00pm-10:00pm Sunday-Thursday

  • 5:00pm-11:00pm Friday & Saturday

Christmas on the Cumberland is free and open to the public.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Native American Heritage Month to be held at Fort Defiance

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Join members of the Native Cultural Circle on November 19th from 11:00am until 12:30pm for storytelling and dance demonstrations at Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center.

The event is part of Native American Heritage Month. The group will share and discuss their history and demonstrate aspects of Native American culture. 

“Montgomery County has many historical sites originating from diverse indigenous populations,” said Roxanne Jenkins, Associate Historical Interpreter at Fort Defiance.

Tickets are $10.00 (adults) and $5.00 (10 and under) and may be reserved online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org/filmseries, by phone at 931.645.7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours (9:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday, and one hour prior to show times).

Handmade Holidays kicks off the holiday season

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – ‘Tis the season as the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department hosts its annual, two-day, Handmade Holidays event.

Over 60 vendors will be in attendance, offering a wide variety of handcrafted merchandise from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday, November 12th, and 10:00am to 2:00pm on Sunday, November 13th.

Guests will be able to shop local vendors offering items such as soaps, art, sweets, woodworking, jewelry, and more.
