Community Development Block Grant Public Meeting Notice

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government will hold a public meeting on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program at 6:30pm CST on January 30th, 2012 at the William O. Beach Civic Hall, located at 350 Pageant Lane, Veterans’ Plaza, Clarksville, Tennessee.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss possible projects for which the County may apply under the 2012 CDBG program. CDBG funds may be used for industrial development projects, water and sewer improvements, imminent threat issues, and community livability projects. [Read more]

WIC Clinic Construction Update

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – The new Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Clinic is currently under construction and taking shape quickly. This week, the project reaches a critical milestone, as the tie in to the existing Health Department building will take place.

Over the previous weeks, passers-by have witnessed steel and roofing being erected, as well as the concrete slab being most recently poured for the project.

Another Step Closer for the Clarksville Marina

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Mayor Kim McMillan received notification that the Army Corps of Engineers has approved the lease agreement between the City of Clarksville and Cumberland River, LLC.

“Corps approval is a critical step in moving forward with development,” explained Mayor McMillan. “Once the City Council approved the agreement on Tuesday night, we immediately moved forward to sign and forward it to the Corps for review. To receive approval within 48 hours is a direct result of our hard work and commitment to completing this project. We are very appreciative of the wonderful working relationship we have with the Corps and their enthusiasm for the project and we look forward to working with them to bring it to completion.” [Read more]

Communication Tower Negotiations Compete

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government has finalized negotiations with AT&T for construction of a replacement tower on Highway Drive. The tower will house the National Weather Service (NWS) equipment, along with all county emergency backup communication equipment.

The tower will be constructed at 280 feet tall, with the upper 80 feet housing the county equipment and the NWS equipment. AT&T will be able to lease space to other occupants if they choose, but the space above 200 feet will be reserved for county and National Weather Service use only. [Read more]

Montgomery County Animal Control Changes Hours

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – In an effort to better serve the citizens of Montgomery County, Animal Control and Adoption Services will be open new hours beginning January 1st, 2012. The facility will be open to the public from 10:00am to 3:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10:00am to 7:00pm on Thursdays and will be closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.
