City of Clarksville Revenue Collections Office extends hours and accepts local utility bill payments
Clarksville, TN – Beginning Monday, October 3rd, 2011 the City of Clarksville Finance and Revenue Department will have extended office hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm in their Revenue Collections Office in order to better serve its citizens and make it more convenient for them to pay their property taxes and utility bills.
The Revenue Collections Office is located in the first floor of the City Hall building at One Public Square. The office collects revenue for property tax, personal property tax, general billings and parking tickets. [Read more]
City receives state approval to perform its own Electrical Inspections
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan has received final approval from the state for the city’s Building and Codes department to begin issuing its own electrical permits for construction within the city limits. [Read more]
New Mayor’s Youth Council members selected
Clarksville, TN – The Mayor’s Youth Council members have been chosen for the 2011-2012 school year.

Ten New Officers Hitting the Streets
Clarksville, TN – Ten new Clarksville Police officers will soon be hitting the streets after graduating from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy July 29th. They are entering 14 weeks with Field Training Officers to develop their on the job skills after learning basic law enforcement techniques in the academy.
They are closely evaluated during the Field Training phase and are required to be well-versed in the local, state, and federal laws that apply to their law enforcement duties. They will also be closely scrutinized on their interpersonal skills when interacting with the public and coworkers. After successful completion of field training, officers will be allowed to go solo and be assigned to a duty position.
City Council Ward 11 Town Hall Meeting
Clarksville, TN – City Councilwoman Kaye Jones will host her monthly Ward 11 Town Hall Meeting on Monday August 1st, 2011 at 6:30pm.

DOE review shows City’s good job with grant
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville recently received a favorable report for its administration of an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant.
A Department of Energy team conducted a monitoring visit on July 12th in the city, and in its July 20th report, indicated no problems were found with the management of the federal grant, which was awarded in August 2008. [Read more]
Mayor joins effort to include jobs initiatives in debt limit agreement
Clarksville, TN – As the debate continues in Washington, D.C., over raising the nation’s debt limit, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan recently join 49 other mayors from across the country to urge Congress and the President to include job creation initiatives in whatever agreement they reach.
Mayors from 50 cities, who gathered last week at the United States Conference of Mayors’ Summer Leadership meeting in Los Angeles, sent a letter to President Obama and the leadership of both the House and Senate that called on them “to consider the impact of your agreement on the overriding priority of job creation. Albright named Clarksville Fire Rescue Deputy Chief
Clarksville, TN – Howell Albright, a 35-year veteran of Clarksville Fire Rescue, has been named Deputy Chief of the department.
Fire Chief Mike Roberts and Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announced Albright’s appointment to the position at Thursday’s City Council Executive Session.
Albright, 57, is a Clarksville native and the longest serving member of the fire department. He had been Chief of the Training Division for the past 15 years.
Convention and Visitors Bureau announces New Board
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce their 2011-2012 Board of Directors.
Newly elected to the board is Carolyn Pierce and reappointed to the board is Geno Grubbs; both will serve a three year term. Steven Stroman is this year’s Chairman and Geno Grubbs was elected as the Chairman elect. [Read more]
