Montgomery County announces Christy Wentzell selected as Community Corrections Program Manager
Montgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Mayor’s Office is pleased to announce that Christy Wentzell has been selected as the new Community Corrections Program Manager.
She has most recently been serving as an Executive Lieutenant for the Henry County Police Department, McDonough, Georgia.
Montgomery County Parks and Recreation to hold Public Input Meeting
Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Parks and Recreation will host a Public Input Meeting on the Master Plan for St. Bethlehem Civitan Park on Thursday, February 6th, at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library, 350 Pageant Lane.

Fort Campbell Welcomes Home the Last of the 4th Brigade Combat Team
Fort Campbell, KY – The never ending cycling of soldiers between the battlefield to the home front and vise versa continued Wednesday evening with the return of the final flight of 105 soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Currahees) who returned up early Saturday morning.
This deployment was scheduled to be nine months, a good portion of our brigade about 2000 soldiers returned back at the 6-7 month mark. These soldiers returning today Easy Company of the 2nd/506th Infantry Regiment of the HBO Band of Brothers fame. They were contacting a TA Uplift Mission, or a Train, Assist, and Advise Uplift Mission. Montgomery County Trustee’s Office announces over 20 Million Dollars in Interest Earnings
Montgomery County, TN – Brenda E. Radford, Montgomery County Trustee, is pleased to announce her efforts have earned more than twenty million dollars through the prudent investment of Montgomery County Government’s Idle Funds.
“In September 2006, one of my goals as County Trustee has been to earn and return more than twenty million dollars through the Trustee’s Investment Program,” Radford said. Clarksville Transit System to provide Free Rides on Christmas Eve
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System (CTS) will provide free transportation throughout the city on December 24th, 2013.
This includes rides to the Annual Warm Souls Christmas event hosted by Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries.
Montgomery County Offices will be Closed for Christmas Holiday
Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government Offices will be closed Tuesday, December 24th and Wednesday, December 25th, 2013 for the Christmas holiday. Public Safety personnel will report as scheduled.
Montgomery County offices will reopen on Thursday, December 26th, 2013, at their normal business hours.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan launches Campaign to encourage Safe Storage and Proper Disposal of Prescription Drugs
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announces the launch of a public education campaign to encourage the safe storage and proper disposal of prescription medications.
The campaign, which is part of a national awareness initiative called Safeguard My Meds, will involve a concerted effort by law enforcement officials, medical professionals and citizens of Clarksville to reduce the abuse of prescription medications.
Barksdale Elementary School students learn about government from officials
Clarksville, TN – Students at Barksdale Elementary School prepared for this week’s Social Studies test, but aside from hitting the books, they were taught by several officials in local government.
Captain Jesse Reynolds of the MCSO introduced Clarksville City Mayor Kim McMillan, Montgomery County Director of Administration Phil Harpel, Circuit Judge Ross Hicks, Assistant District Attorney Daniel Stephenson, Attorney Michael Pugh, K-9 Deputy Kelley Potter along with K-9 Mali and Deputy Tim Harp of the bomb squad.
Clarksville Transit System announces Holiday Schedule; Offers Safe Ride on New Year’s Eve
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Transit System (CTS) is announcing the hours for its holiday schedule. On Tuesday, December 24th, 2013, service will stop at 5:00pm with the last bus departing the Transit Center at 4:00pm.
Regular service will resume on Thursday morning, December 26th, 2013 on all normal routes. There will be no CTS service on December 25th, 2013. [Read more]
