Christmas on the Cumberland – Part 3

The McGregor Park Riverwalk once again comes alive with the Christmas spirit for the 11th annual Christmas on the Cumberland. Christmas on the Cumberland has been named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society for the 2nd consecutive year. This year’s Christmas on the Cumberland theme is “The 12 Days of Christmas”. Come experience over 1 million twinkling lights, beautiful Christmas trees, visits from Santa and several other sights and sounds of the Christmas season right here in Clarksville. The lighting of the 11th annual Christmas on the Cumberland was November 24 at 6:30 pm. The display will be open Sunday through Thursday, 5-10 pm and Friday through Saturday, 5-11 pm November 24 through January 1, 2010.

The Powwow showcases the culture, heritage, and traditions of all Native Americans. The powwow is was held on October 10th and 11th 2009 . Located on Highway 238 in Port Royal, just past Port Royal State Park. The festivities started around 9:00 am on Saturday, and 10:00 am on Sunday. The Grand Entry which officially opens each day began around Noon.

2009 Riverfest – Beaver Country Idol – Part 5

The Beaver Country Idol, sponsored Draughon’s Junior College, finals took place Saturday, September 12th at Clarksville’s RIVERFEST. The show kicked off at 4:45pm on the Budweiser Stage. This year’s finalist were: Hillary Rust, Kenneth Williams, Josh Stevens, Doug Young, Brandi Palmer, Sheena Linton, Mary Kendrick, Keith Barrick, Rhonda Davis, Kayla Laxton, Josh Phelps, Shannon Donahue, Holly Shanks, Kecia Blake, Adam McPhaill, Amber Burdette, and Chris Monhollen.
