Indoor Aquatic Center Dome Inflate
Clarksville, TN – On January 27th, 2011, the Clarksville Tennessee Parks and Recreation department was working hard to complete work and inflate the bubble like dome that will shelter the New Providence Pool year around. The inflation of the dome was completed late in the afternoon.
The new Indoor Aquatic Center will officially open to the public Saturday, January 29th, 2011 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. The opening will feature give-a-ways, contests and a free gift for the first 50 people to purchase a pool pass.
The center will also offer FREE swimming to the public all day long from 10:00am to 6:00pm on opening day.
APSU holds 2nd Annual Polar Plunge
Clarksville, TN – APSU’s University Recreation held the 2nd Annual Polar Plunge at 4:00pm on Tuesday January 26th 2011. Participants jumped into the frigid Foy Center pool for a chance to win a FREE t-shirt! Afterwards the students and APSU faculty members dried themselves off and warmed themselves up with Hot chocolate.
John Pursley III poetry reading at APSU
Clarksville, TN – As part of the Visiting Writers Series poet and essayist John Pursley III gave a reading from his poetry on Monday, January 24th, 2011 at 4:00pm in the Morgan University Center at Austin Peay State University.
Press Conference with Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan
Clarksville, TN – On January 25th, 2011, at 8:45am, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan held a press conference where she discussed the U.S. Conference of Mayors she attended last week in Washington, D.C. Topics discussed were energy conservation and the new Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification program that is about to kick off. As well as the Civility Accord that was brought forward by the mayor of Tucson, Robert Walkup, in light of the recent shooting in his city. The press conference was held at the Riverview Inn ballroom.
Demolition of Bridge over Red River in Clarksville Tennessee
Clarksville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation crews demolished part of the existing bridge over the Red River on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard (U.S. 79/State Route 13) in Clarksville Tennessee on Wednesday, January 19th, 2011.
Explosives were detonated at 10:14:05pm and brought down the concrete columns on the southbound bridge.
Once Upon A Time at the Roxy Regional Theatre
Clarksville, TN – Famous tales from childhood come to life upon the stage of the Roxy Regional Theatre, Clarksville Tennessee, in “Once Upon A Time”. The play stars Faith Boles, Ryan Bowie, Travis Kendrick, Keith Patrick McCoy and Roslyn Seale.

Kim McMillan Sworn in as Clarksville’s new Mayor
Clarksville, TN – On January 3rd, 2010, Kim McMillan was sworn in as the new Mayor of Clarksville. She is also the first female Mayor of Clarksville. The event was held at the Roxy Regional Theatre at 4:00pm.

Clarksville, TN – Comedy on the Cumberland was at the Riverview Inn December 20th 2010. A comedy benefit for the Downtown Kiwanis Club and their children’s programs. The show was hosted by Hank Bonecutter and starred comedian Henry Cho.
