The Independence Day Celebration is attended by thousands of Soldiers, Family members and civilians every year. Fort Campbell pumped up the holiday with a free concert featuring four country acts. The Independence Week Carnival, is presented by USAA and Morale, Welfare and Recreation. The fireworks show featured music by the 101st Airborne Division Band.

Through 350 live performances, Dan and his band have spent the past two years sharing his songs with new fans across the region. Venues he has performed at include Fort Campbell, the prestigious Gibson Showcase in Nashville, 4th Street Live in Louisville and Turfway Park. When they are home they can be found performing at local establishments in the Cincinnati area.

The Independence Week Carnival, presented by USAA and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, began June 30th at 5:00pm and ran through July 5th. This year’s festivities included carnival rides and games provided by Belle City Amusements. The July 4th celebration is kicked off with a free concert and ends with a 20 minute fireworks display.
Language Students Graduate

Fort Campbell, KY- Fort Campbell’s Language Training Detachment will host a graduation ceremony for its first 73 students Friday, June 11th at 11:00 am.
The students, members of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) attended Pashto or Dari training since early February.

Forward Operating Base Salerno, AFGHANISTAN – May 25th marked a new era chapter in the history of the 3rd Special Troops Battalion, as command of the unit changed hands in a ceremony at Forward Operating Base Gardez, Afghanistan.

Afghan President visits Fort Campbell

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. — Afghan President Hamid Karzai brought a message of thanks to Soldiers and their Families at Fort Campbell today, as the 101st Airborne Division continues to deploy to his country.
Karzai’s visit to the installation comes on the heels of a week of talks in Washington, D.C., with President Barack Obama. The two leaders used the time to help repair relations between Afghanistan and the U.S., after a year of rising tensions. [Read more]
101ST Airborne Division Colors casing Ceremony

FORT CAMPBELL, KY – Maj. Gen. John F. Campbell and Command Sgt. Maj. Scott C. Schroeder, Commanding General and Command Sergeant Major of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, will case the 101st Airborne Division colors and welcome Col. Dominic J. Caraccilo as the post Senior Mission Commander during a 10:00 am ceremony at the Division headquarters on Wed., May 19th.
The colors casing ceremony marks the final step in deployment preparation for the 101st Airborne Division headquarters as it will assume operational control of NATO’s Regional-Command East in Bagram, Afghanistan this summer from the 82nd Airborne Division. [Read more]
