APSU Police Promote Seatbelt Safety

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Campus Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) for its fifth annual Seatbelts Are for Everyone (SAFE) campaign.
This statewide initiative is designed to increase seatbelt and child passenger safety restraint usage through the implementation of occupant-protection programs, public events and checkpoints throughout Tennessee. The SAFE campaign began February 1st, 2018 and concludes August 1st, 2018.
APSU Food for Fines project doubles participation for 2017

Clarksville, TN – In 2014, the Austin Peay State University Department of Public Safety began a partnership with the University’s Save Our Students (SOS) food bank, creating the Food for Fines program.
The program allows anyone who received an APSU parking ticket the option to provide food to APSU students in need in exchange for a parking ticket being voided.

Dunk A Cop benefit to be held at Austin Peay Tuesday, October 2nd

Clarksville, TN – On Tuesday, October 2nd, Dunk A Cop event will be held at Austin Peay State University’s University Center Plaza from 11:30am to 1:30pm. All money raised goes to the SOS Food Pantry.

APSU Campus Police to participate in National Night Out

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University Campus Police, along with Clarksville and Montgomery County, will join cities nationwide for the 29th annual National Night Out (NNO), a crime and prevention event, on Tuesday, August 7th.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in, local anticrime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and to send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
