Summer Youth Program to begin June 6th

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department Summer Youth Program will begin June 6th with the opening of program sites and will end July 15th.
The Summer Youth Program is a six-week day camp-type program that is offered each summer to youths, ages 6-16. Gyms at various locations are staffed with directors and assistants, who will help with playtime activities and provide free, instructional classes such as dance and karate.

Clarksville, TN – Because of impeding high waters from flooding, the following parks remain closed until further notice: McGregor Park and Trice Landing Park. Billy Dunlop Park has reopened to the public.
We advise citizens to use extreme caution by avoiding these flooded areas all together.

Sleep Under the Stars at the Parks & Recreation Family Campout

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to sleep under the stars at Billy Dunlop Park. Join us for a family camp out beginning at 2:00pm Saturday, May 21st, until 9:00am Sunday, May 22nd, at the park located at 1930 East Boy Scout Road.

Clarksville Parks & Recreation to offer Geocaching Class

Clarksville, TN – Have you ever heard of geocaching? The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to take part in a Geocaching Class on Saturday, May 7th from 8:00am until 10:00am at Billy Dunlop Park, located at 1930 East Boy Scout Road.
Geocaching uses GPS devices to hide and seek containers called “geocaches,” very similar to a treasure hunt! [Read more]

Sleep Under the Stars at the Parks and Recreation Family Campout
July 8, 2010
The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to sleep under the stars at Billy Dunlop Park. Join us for a family camp out beginning Saturday, July 24th at 2:00pm until Sunday, July 25th at 9:00am. Activities will include a bonfire, archery, games, ghost stories and much more!
The Family Campout is $10.00 per person and will include an afternoon and evening of games as well as a hot dog dinner and breakfast. Families will need to provide their own tent and sleeping materials. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Don’t miss out on your chance to sleep under the stars, pre-register by July 16th, 2010 at the Parks & Recreation Main office located at 102 Public Square or any of our three community centers.
