Nominations Open for Clarksville Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards

Clarksville, TN – The Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for three annual awards: The Ted A. Crozier Sr. Community Commitment Award, Boots to Suits: Veteran of the Year and Young Professional of the Year.
Nominations must be received at the Chamber by Friday, April 7th 3027 and winners will be announced at the Chamber’s Annual Gala on Tuesday, May 9th.

Budweiser of Clarksville becomes Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified

Montgomery County, TN – The latest business to celebrate their Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification is Budweiser of Clarksville, owned by the Hand family of Clarksville.
Charles Hand, Chairman of the Board of Hand Family Companies, has a history of taking care of the environment. For decades, Hand has been doing his part to keep our community clean. His actions carried over to his family businesses when the Company began participating in the Adopt-A-Highway Program in the early 1990s, and the efforts have been growing ever since.
Anheuser-Busch recognizes Budweiser of Clarksville and Budweiser of Hopkinsville as Ambassadors of Excellence

Clarksville, TN – Budweiser of Clarksville, a beverage distributorship and the corporate hub of Hand Family Companies, and Budweiser of Hopkinsville (KY), also a Hand Family Companies property, were recognized as “Ambassadors of Excellence” by Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company for their 2011 performance.
Only 20 of the more than 700 Anheuser-Busch wholesalers in the nation were selected for the award, and the Clarksville facility placed fourth.
Hand Family Companies learned of the awards in February and the two facilities were recognized during the Ambassadors of Excellence Top Performers meeting held April 12th-15th in Monterey, California. [Read more]
Budweiser of Clarksville dontates to Habitat for Humanity Women Build 2012

Clarksville, TN – Budweiser of Clarksville made a $1000 donation to Habitat for Humanity Women Build 2012 in an effort to raise $30,000 in sponsorships to build a new home for a qualified low-income Habitat partner family.
Women Build is a women-led committee dedicated to developing resources to build the home. Women from Montgomery County are dedicating their time and experience to raise funds and resources in their community for the effort. City Councilwoman Deanna McLaughlin is leading the campaign.

APSU alumnus Charles Hand receives 2010 Regents Award of Excellence in Philanthropy

Charles Hand was presented the 2010 Regents Award of Excellence in Philanthropy during Austin Peay State University’s annual Tower Club Dinner, held Friday, April 30. Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Chancellor Charles Manning presented Hand the award.
APSU President Tim Hall, who nominated Hand for the award, said, “Hand’s financial support of the university expands over a long period of time. His lifetime giving is almost one million dollars and includes significant support of APSU athletics, with a special emphasis on our baseball program since the baseball park is named in his father’s memory, Raymond C. Hand. Austin Peay’s Beatrice Hand Village, a relatively new housing complex, is named in memory of his mother.” [Read more]
