2017 RiverFestClarksville, TN – Sunny and pleasant weather is forecast Thursday through Saturday for Clarksville’s Riverfest Celebration, offering a welcome change from last week’s storms and flooding.

Heavy rains swept through Clarksville early Friday, pushing the Cumberland River to flood stage, covering McGregor Park’s two outdoor stages and forcing Clarksville Parks and Recreation to close the park.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – As part of the ongoing PeayClipse lecture series, Austin Peay State University senior physics student Jacob Robertson will present a talk titled, “Total Solar Eclipse: Nature’s Stellar Coincidence.”

The talk will take place at 7:00pm, Saturday, August 19th, 2017 in Liberty Park, prior to the evening’s featured film, “Space Jam.”

City of Clarksville to hold Urban Wilderness meeting August 22nd

Clarksville Mayor, Parks Director to discuss project with neighbors

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Parks Director Jennifer Letourneau will meet with neighbors from around the proposed Urban Wilderness park in Midtown Clarksville to discuss the project.

The City officials will make a brief remarks and then take questions and comments about the proposal. The meeting, sponsored by neighborhood organizations, will be at 6:30pm, Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017 at Hilldale Methodist Church.

Riverfest seeks vendors, entertainers, artists

Clarksville's Riverfest CelebrationClarksville, TN – Applications are being accepted for the City of Clarksville’s 30th annual Riverfest Celebration, presented by Budweiser. The Festival will be Thursday, September 7th through Saturday, September 9th, 2017.  Vendors and entertainers are encouraged to apply online at www.clarksvilleriverfest.com

The Festival can only accept a limited number of applicants, so submit your form as soon as possible.

Clarksville is prime location for the Great American Eclipse

Clarksville-Montgomery County Residents must take precautions during August 21st event

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County is in the path of the Great American Eclipse of August 21st, 2017, making this a prime destination for those who want to view this rare astronomical  occurrence.

This  will be the first coast-to-coast eclipse in 98 years and the first in the continental United States since 1978.  The eclipse can only be seen in a path 60 miles wide across the United State, so this will be a once in a lifetime experience to to witness a fascinating natural phenomenon.
