Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Paralympic Sport Clarksville is excited to announce the first-ever Paralympic Experience to be held Saturday, March 9th at the Kleeman Community Center, located at 116 Cunningham Lane, from 10:00am until 3:00pm.

This event is open to youth and adults at least 8-years-old, including active duty service members and veterans, with physical and visual disabilities, regardless of skill level.

Rivers and Spires named Best Festival at Southeast Festivals and Events Association Conference

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The Rivers and Spires Festival is pleased to announce that they were the recipient of two Gold Awards at the Southeast Festivals and Events Association (SFEA) Conference this past week in Auburn, AL.

The Festival won Gold Awards for being the “Best Festival With A Budget Over $75,000” and for the “Best Creative Idea”. The 2012 Festival Media Kit was submitted for the creative award.

APSU Culinary Students showcase talent at Chocolate Affair

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Students in the culinary degree program at the Austin Peay Center at Fort Campbell teamed up with the Fort Campbell culinary team for the recent Chocolate Affair community event organized by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department.

Together, both programs won the “Best Creative Use of Chocolate” Award at the event, which was sponsored by the City of Clarksville and held Saturday, February 9th at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Registration is now open for the 35th Annual Queen City Road Race featuring new 7K Race

35th Annual Queen City Road RaceClarksville, TN – It’s that time of year again to lace up those running shoes and begin preparing for the 35th Annual Queen City Road Race scheduled for Saturday, May 4th.

The Queen City Road Race event is a Clarksville tradition promoting fitness and fun for all ages. The 7K and 5K race route takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, beginning and ending at Austin Peay State University’s Governors Stadium, while the One Mile Movement takes you on an exciting tour of a portion of the APSU campus.

For over thirty years, hundreds of Clarksville-Montgomery County and Fort Campbell school students, teachers and family members have participated in this Clarksville tradition. [Read more]
