Clarksville, TNJingle Bell JogOn Saturday, December 1st, 2012 downtown Clarksville was packed with over 429 runners adorned in Christmas themed outfits for the fourth annual Jingle Bell Jog. The City of Clarksville and Run for a Reason founded by Eddie Ferrell and Casey Jenkins hosted a one mile fun run and a 5k to raise money for a local charity.

This year all proceeds are going to The Food Initiative. The Food Initiative is a non-profit organization that hires high school students from Montgomery County and Fort Campbell to plant and harvest food for local organizations.

Clarksville’s Downtown for the Holidays happens today

December 1, 2012

Downtown for the HolidaysClarksville, TN – The 6th Annual Downtown for the Holidays celebration presented by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, in Downtown Clarksville, is Saturday, December 1st, 2012.

The event kicks off with the Jingle Bell Jog 5K hosted by the City of Clarksville and Run for a Reason. The 5K race will begin at 8:00am, in downtown Clarksville.

At 4:00pm, join the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government as they host activities for the whole family. Enjoy free hot chocolate on Public Square and caroling on the County Square. [Read more]

53rd Annual Christmas Parade happens Saturday, December 1st

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The 53rd Annual Christmas Parade will be a night-time, lighted Christmas parade and is scheduled for December 1st, 2012 beginning at 5:00pm.

This year’s parade will feature both the Austin Peay State University Governors Own Marching Band and the Tennessee State University Band, dozens of businesses and organizations, as well as Santa Claus.

The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government have partnered with Agero to host the parade.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation now offering Pool Party Packages

Indoor Aquatic Center - New ProvidenceClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department now offers Pool Party Packages for those wishing to celebrate at the indoor pool!

Pool Party Packages are available during regular operating hours for parties of 10-20 people. Groups of more than 20 can be booked as a private party. Reservations must be made in advance through the Parks and Recreation Department.
