Clarksville Mayor McMillan to attend Institute of Politics Program

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will attend a program presented by Harvard University’s Institute of Politics. The seminar, which is offered by invitation only, focuses on training newly elected mayors and takes place every two years. All expenses for the seminar are paid by the Institute.

“I’m very honored to be invited to this seminar and look forward to hearing from some of the most respected leaders in public policy and leadership. Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville has partnered with the Montgomery County Government this year to co-host the 52nd Annual Christmas Parade. The parade will be a night-time, lighted Christmas parade and is scheduled for December 3rd starting at 5:00pm.

The Christmas parade is an event for local businesses, schools, and organizations to showcase their Christmas spirit. This year’s theme is “Home for the Holidays”.

Indoor Aquatic Center offers fun during Holiday Breaks

Indoor Aquatic Center - New ProvidenceClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites kids and parents to enjoy the Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, during the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System’s holiday breaks!

This Wednesday, November 23rd, the indoor swimming facility will be having its weekly “Wibit Wednesday” featuring “The Aqua Run” floating obstacle course. Cost of admission is just $3.00 per person, plus a $2.00 wristband for all day Wibit access.

The City of Clarksville adds new local content to AT&T’s U-verse TV

Public, Education and Government (PEG) Programming
PEG channel added to U-verse TV in Clarksville, Tennessee

AT&TClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and AT&T Tennessee today announced that Public, Education and Government (PEG) programming provided by The City of Clarksville is now carried on AT&T U-verse® TV Channel 99.

This station is operated by Austin Peay State University (APSU). APSU’s GovTV channel provides its viewers live and rebroadcast coverage of OVC sports, classic arts showcase, NASA and various community events that also include Clarksville’s city council meetings. AT&T U-verse launched in Tennessee in December 2008.

City and County Host Downtown Decorating Contest

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – The Downtown Decorating Contest will be a continued tradition in the 5th Annual Downtown for the Holidays celebration presented by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, in Downtown Clarksville on December 3rd.
