Clarksville, TN – The next Mayor’s Fitness Council event will be a Pet Walk with the City of Clarksville Mayor at 10:00am, October 1st at the Clarksville Downtown Market.

City Purchases New Fire Truck

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville recently addressed the need for a new fire truck by purchasing a new 2011 Ferrara Fire Apparatus, 57’ Quint, which was displayed Wednesday afternoon on Public Square.
The modern fire fighting machine has a tank capacity of 300 Gallons and is equipped with a pump capable of pushing 1500 gallons of water per minute, if needed. The truck has a seating capacity of 6 fire fighters and is equipped with all of the latest National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) safety features. [Read more]
City of Clarksville to Fundraise to Save the Smith-Trahern Mansion

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville made an announcement Friday night at the Riverfest Amatuer & Professional Art Exhibit involving the future of the Smith-Trahern mansion.
The City is embarking on a fundraising campaign to raise money for repairs to the mansion. This mid-19th century home is one of the oldest homes still in existence in Clarksville today and is on the National Register of Historic Places. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – On September 29th, Clarksville, TN will welcome 46 teams to town as part of a 2,500 mile Southeastern race and scavenger hunt that will benefit the local F.U.E.L. program. F.U.E.L. is a non-profit program that helps feed needy children whose only access to food is what they receive at school.
The Fireball Run Adventurally, sponsored by Chevrolet, will begin in Melbourne, FL on September 23rd and eventually reach their final destination in Gulfport, MS on October 1st.

Liberty Park boat ramps open on Labor Day

Clarksville, TN – The boat ramps and docks at Liberty Park will be open during the Labor Day Weekend, which will include Monday, September 5th.
After closing August 26th through August 28th to complete paving at the park, the new four-lane boat ramp and two boat docks in the marina basin will continue to be open on the regular weekend schedule, in addition to Labor Day.

Swan Lake Golf Course reopens Today with new greens

Clarksville, TN – Swan Lake Golf Course will reopen to the public on Wednesday, August 24th, with new Championship Bermuda grass on each green.
Swan Lake Manager Jeff Vaughn described 14 of the 18 greens as being in excellent condition. “The other four greens are not in bad shape, they’re just not quite up to the same condition as the rest. They have a few thin spots, but they all will continue to grow in,” he said.
On June 20th, the municipal golf course at 581 Dunbar Cave Road closed so a Texas company could began replacing the Bent Grass on the greens with the Championship Bermuda, which is more heat tolerant and widely used across the southern U.S. [Read more]
