Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreations’ Fright on Franklin continues to be one of Clarksville’s favorite events. Scores of local businesses and organizations participated this year, in what has become a Halloween tradition that receives rave reviews from all around, vendors, parents, and especially young trick-or-treaters.
“This was our tenth year and it was a huge success,” Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Rob Rayburn said. “We would estimate that there were about 6,000 people who came downtown between 3:00pm and 6:00pm on Saturday.

Clarksville, TN – City of Clarksville employees competed Tuesday in the 2nd Annual United Way Field Day event to kick-off the annual workplace giving campaign.
Twelve six-member teams from across the City of Clarksville gathered at the Wilma Rudolph Events Center compete in nine “minute-to-win-it” games, including Ping Pong Shake, Elephant March and Balloon Pop. Team names were equally creative, including Blue Light Special, Killa Watts, Perfectly Balanced and Codes Crusaders.
New Providence Pool opens for indoor season October 1st

New Providence Pool is at 168 Cunningham Lane, off Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Clarksville, TN – The Tennessee State Soccer Association has accepted the City of Clarksville’s invitation to begin negotiating a potential management and use agreement for a state soccer park as part of a new Clarksville Athletic Complex.
TSSA said Tuesday in a letter to Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan that it “wishes to enter the next phase of negotiations” and that its board will vote on December 1st to select a site for its statewide soccer complex.

Clarksville’s Riverfest Regatta a sure crowd pleaser

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, September 8th, the Clarksville Riverfest Regatta, also known at the cardboard boat races, took place at McGregor Park Boat Launch Area at 1:00pm. It was overcast, cool, with a steady down river wind.
Boats are constructed from cardboard and recycled materials and raced down the Cumberland River in a 100-yard dash. U.S. Bank was the sponsor of this year’s Riverfest Regatta. There were 10 entries and 9 took part in the races.
Clarksville Riverfest’s Juried Art Show was held Thursday night

Clarksville, TN – Hundreds came out for the annual Riverfest Juried Art Show at Wilma Rudolph Event Center Thursday night, the official beginning of Clarksville’s Riverfest 2018, one of Clarksville’s most anticipated events.
Artists of all ages, working in many mediums, were invited to submit their work. Multiple categories allowed for a wide variety of creative expression, and at 6:15pm, this year’s awards winners were announced.
