Austin Peay State University announces recipients of the 36th Annual Candlelight Ball Awards

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, March 14th, 2020 at 6:00pm, Austin Peay State University (APSU) will host the 36th Annual Candlelight Ball at the Omni Nashville Hotel, and in anticipation of this event, the University has announced the three winners of the 2020 Candlelight Ball Awards.

Clarksville, TN – This November, during Austin Peay State University’s 2019 Homecoming celebration, the University will honor six distinguished individuals with this year’s APSU Alumni Awards.
The 2019 honorees are Outstanding Service Award recipients Dee Boaz and Shan Smith (’78); Outstanding Young Alumni Award recipients Catie Clinard (’11) and Bryan Johnson (’04); and Outstanding Alumni Award recipients Khandra Smalley (’05) and Richard Bibb (’65).
Jenkins Family creates two new scholarships to benefit APSU students

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Foundation received two generous gifts from Don Jenkins and Sandy Jenkins to establish the Jenkins Family PELP Endowment and the Jenkins Family Finish Line Scholarship. Their generosity will provide financial aid for many deserving students.

Clarksville, TN – Earlier this year, the Austin Peay State University Office of Alumni Relations announced the recipients of the 2019 Candlelight Ball Awards.
The Wendell H. Gilbert Award will go to Dr. Jeannie Beauchamp, who established Clarksville Pediatric Dentistry in 1999, and the Spirit of Austin Peay Award will go to Len Rye, a residential contractor who specializes in custom homes.

AHDC to honor three Clarksvillians for their work in advancing arts, heritage in our community

Clarksville, TN – Three Clarksvillians will be honored this Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council for their achievements in art and in preserving our heritage.
Ceramicists Ken and Melody Shipley will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Art award, and Dr. Minoa Uffelman, Austin Peay State University history professor, will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Heritage award.
The awards ceremony will begin at 5:00pm at Emerald Hill on the Austin Peay campus.
