Gwendolyn Rodriguez Shows Art Planters Bank November 7th

Clarksville, TN – Gwendolyn Rodriguez loves to paint pictures that tell a story of a person or a time and place. Her paintings, showing a sample of her diverse interests and places around the world, will be on display at the Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery Thursday, November 7th – Wednesday, December 4th.
Although born in San Antonio, Texas, Rodriguez spent most of her childhood in Middle Tennessee. At 18, she experienced life as an exchange student in Germany, where she developed a passion for travel and languages.
Lynne Griffey Shows Watercolors from Beach Poetry Book at Planters Bank in October

Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will show watercolor illustrations from local artist Lynne Griffey now through Wednesday, November 6th. The paintings are all featured in a newly published book by local author Nancy Sneed, “Grains of Sand: Beach Poems.”
Griffey and Sneed, both retired Clarksville educators, combined their talents to produce a book the entire family can enjoy. “Grains of Sand” is a collection of poems that tell the story of a family vacation to the beach, from packing to reliving the trip through the photo album.
Clarksville’s First Thursday Art Walk to be held October 3rd

Clarksville’s 8th Annual ‘Frolic on Franklin’ coming September 14th, 2013

Clarksville, TN – Downtown Clarksville’s 8th Annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts” will take place Saturday, September 14th from 9:00am-3:30pm. The free event will showcase the works of 20 local and regional artists, staged and roaming entertainment, artists’ demonstrations, and baked goods – all along the 100 block of historic Franklin Street.
A variety of original fine art, as well as handmade crafts, will be on display including paintings and photography, handmade toys, wood-turned items, quilts, fabric purses and totes, pottery, wreaths, hand-painted signs, jewelry, woven and knitted items, and seasonal gifts. Items will be for sale with prices ranging from $2.00 – $250.00.
Planters Bank expands Hilldale Gallery for Dual Exhibits in 2013

Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery space will feature the works of two local artists in January, Photographer Bob Gandy and Watercolorist Jan Williams. Exhibits will be on display Thursday, January 3rd-Wednesday, February 6th.
A native Clarksvillian, Jan (Griffey) Williams’ interest was always artistic. One of her first encounters with parental discipline after she learned to talk fell into that category. Her mother, discovering her child drawing with crayons on the laundry room walls, asked, “And just what are you doing?” Jan confessed to “drawing ducks.”

Planters Bank ‘First Thursday’ Exhibit Features Clarksville Photo Club

Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank “First Thursday” Art Exhibit at the bank’s Hilldale branch will feature the Clarksville Friends of Photography during October. Approximately 20 photos will be on display from members of the club. All pieces are available for sale.
The exhibit will be open to the public from Thursday, October 4th through Wednesday, October 31st during regular bank hours (8:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday and 8:30am-5:30pm, Friday.) The bank’s Hilldale branch is located at 1971 Madison Street.
Upcoming exhibits include watercolors by Judy Morgan in November and photography by David Smith in December.
Veteran Photographer Alan Goldstein to Showcase Photos at Planters Bank

Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature photography from Alan Goldstein beginning Thursday, August 2nd.
Goldstein’s large-scaled, black and white exhibit is entitled “Ballet Magnificant.” The public is invited to meet Goldstein at an opening reception on Thursday between noon and 2:00pm.
