Greenway Opening
December 6, 2010
Clarksville, TN – On December 16th at 3:00pm the new 600-foot Greenway’s bridge will be dedicated and opened. The name of the donor who helped make the bridge possible will be announced. Upon its opening an additional 1.2 miles of walking trail will be open.
This addition will connect Pollard Road to the Hermitage Park/Kenwood School Complex. If you would like to see this come to the Pollard Road greenway hub.
Shuttles will be provided.
City of Clarksville kicks off the 2010 Christmas on the Cumberland celebration

The City of Clarksville last night kicked off the 12th Annual Christmas on the Cumberland, which continues until January 3rd. The annual free holiday display features over 1,000,000 individual Lights in a amazing Christmas display that spans the entire length of McGregor Park in Downtown Clarksville.
Entertainment was provided by the band Short Notice, a passionate group of musicians whose name is derived ability to work a set list as spontaneously, as they draw the attention of their audience in short order. The band invited children up to dance to their lively Christmas tunes.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation Seeks Input for the Proposed Additions to the Clarksville Greenway System

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks & Recreation department recently held a Public Input Review and Comment Session to receive ideas and suggestions concerning two proposed additions to the Clarksville Greenway System and also to satisfy Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) grant requirements.
The City of Clarksville is preparing to submit a grant application to help with funding of the following two projects. [Read more]
Bird Watching at the Greenway

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to join us at the Clarksville Greenway located at 1101 Pollard Road, Saturday, October 23rd from 8:00am-9:00am to learn birding basics and how to identify species of birds. This event is free and open to the public.
After bird watching, be sure to continue exploring the 3.6-mile trail which is part of the rails to trails initiative, envisioned to clear out old railroad tracks, converting them into trails. Since its opening in September of last year, Clarksville Greenway has added, any new features to include benches, swings, parking area, and will soon be opening a restroom facility located at the trail head.

Free Bicycle Safety Checks on the Clarksville Greenway

The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and The Bicycle Shop invites you to join us at the Clarksville Greenway located at 1101 Pollard Road, Saturday, September 18th from 7:00am to 10:00am for FREE bicycle safety checks! A member from the Clarksville Fire Department will also be on hand discussing tips on what to do in an emergency situation while on the Greenway.

City officially opens the newest section of the Riverwalk
June 24, 2010
In a formal ribbon cutting ceremony the City of Clarksville unveiled the new North Riverwalk Extension on Wednesday. Clarksville Mayor Johnny Piper listed the features to the attendees at the ribbon cutting ceremony which consists of a 12’ sidewalk lined with park benches, picnic tables, and lighting along the Cumberland River from Pilot’s Plaza (behind O’Charleys) to the mouth of the Red River.
