(BMU) announced today that they are planning a $75 million expansion to their site in the Clarksville-Montgomery County Corporate Business Park. This location serves as the US Corporate Headquarters for steel cord production.

City of Clarksville to Fundraise to Save the Smith-Trahern Mansion

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville made an announcement Friday night at the Riverfest Amatuer & Professional Art Exhibit involving the future of the Smith-Trahern mansion.

The City is embarking on a fundraising campaign to raise money for repairs to the mansion. This mid-19th century home is one of the oldest homes still in existence in Clarksville today and is on the National Register of Historic Places. [Read more]

Be A Part Of The Action

Clarksville, TN – On September 29th, Clarksville, TN will welcome 46 teams to town as part of a 2,500 mile Southeastern race and scavenger hunt that will benefit the local F.U.E.L. program. F.U.E.L. is a non-profit program that helps feed needy children whose only access to food is what they receive at school.

The Fireball Run Adventurally, sponsored by Chevrolet, will begin in Melbourne, FL on September 23rd and eventually reach their final destination in Gulfport, MS on October 1st.

Mayor joins effort to include jobs initiatives in debt limit agreement

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – As the debate continues in Washington, D.C., over raising the nation’s debt limit, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan recently join 49 other mayors from across the country to urge Congress and the President to include job creation initiatives in whatever agreement they reach.

Mayors from 50 cities, who gathered last week at the United States Conference of Mayors’ Summer Leadership meeting in Los Angeles, sent a letter to President Obama and the leadership of both the House and Senate that called on them “to consider the impact of your agreement on the overriding priority of job creation. Albright named Clarksville Fire Rescue Deputy Chief

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Howell Albright, a 35-year veteran of Clarksville Fire Rescue, has been named Deputy Chief of the department.

Fire Chief Mike Roberts and Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announced Albright’s appointment to the position at Thursday’s City Council Executive Session.

Albright, 57, is a Clarksville native and the longest serving member of the fire department. He had been Chief of the Training Division for the past 15 years.

Clarksville not selected as Most Patriotic City

Best of the RoadClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville was not selected as the winning city in the Most Patriotic category of the Rand McNally-USA Today Best of the Road contest.

The announcement, which named Rapid City, SD, as the category winner, came today at the Destination Marketing Associations International conference in New Orleans.

Rapid City was selected as the winner from the six finalist cities in the Most Patriotic category, which included Clarksville, TN; Williamsburg, VA; Peachtree City, GA; Emporia, KS; and Fort Leonard Wood, MO. [Read more]

Mayor Kim McMillan to Announce Fitness Council Members
