McMillan Elected to Mayors’ Conference Leadership

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan has been elected to the U.S. Conference of Mayors top leadership team during the organization’s 79th Annual Meeting in Baltimore. She joins 29 other mayors from cities across the country on the Advisory Board. She and Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield are the only mayors from Tennessee to serve in leadership positions in the Conference. [Read more]
Humane Society Donates Pet Supplies to Tornado-Stricken Shelter

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society donated 1,042 lbs. of dog food, 1 large crate, 4 bails of straw, 4 partial rolls of fencing and 2 large bags of linens to local disaster relief volunteers, Hannah and Haly Baggett, who will transport the items to Tuscaloosa K9 Camp this weekend.

Press Conference with Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan

Clarksville, TN – On January 25th, 2011, at 8:45am, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan held a press conference where she discussed the U.S. Conference of Mayors she attended last week in Washington, D.C. Topics discussed were energy conservation and the new Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification program that is about to kick off. As well as the Civility Accord that was brought forward by the mayor of Tucson, Robert Walkup, in light of the recent shooting in his city. The press conference was held at the Riverview Inn ballroom.
City of Clarksville presented flag by 101st Airborne Division

Clarksville, TN – Mayor Kim McMillan was presented an American flag on Tuesday that flew over headquarters of the 101st Airborne Division at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.
Maj. Gen. Frank Wiercinski, administrative senior commander at Fort Campbell, personally delivered the flag and a plaque to the Mayor’s Office on behalf of Maj. Gen. John Campbell, commanding general of the 101st, who is currently in Afghanistan.

Kim McMillan sworn in as Clarksville Tennessee’s first female Mayor

Clarksville, TN – Before a standing room only crowd at the Roxy Regional Theatre yesterday afternoon, Mayor-elect Kim McMillan and six city council members were sworn in to serve the interests of the citizens of the City of Clarksville for the next two years. Lance Baker, the Clarksville City Attorney acted in the role of emcee for the ceremony. Judge Ross Hicks introduced Judge Robert W. Wedemeyer who then swore in the new Mayor.
Kim McMillan is the first woman elected to serve as the Mayor of the City of Clarksville.

Mayor Piper Announces He will not seek Re-Election

With his wife Donita and daughter Heather by his side, Mayor Johnny Piper announced on March 30th 2010 at 3:00 pm that he will not seek re-election for a third term as Mayor of Clarksville Tennessee.
