Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS)Clarksville, TN – Hiroyuki Kobayashi, Consul-General of Japan, presented President Alisa White of Austin Peay State University (APSU) and Director Millard L. House II of the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) with a $30,000 grant to support the institutions’ innovative Japanese language partnership during a gathering at President White’s home this week.

Northwest High School Celebrates Semicentennial Anniversary

September 30, 2019

Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS)Clarksville, TN – This year marks the 50th year of Northwest High School (NWHS) in Clarksville, Tennessee. Built in 1970 with its first graduating class in 1971, the school hosted tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students with a capacity of 1,200 students. The first principal was Peter Kyriakos.

A 1980’s aerial view of Northwest High School (NWHS), in which a gym and classrooms as well as the “400” or “vo-tech” building had been added from the original structure. In 2014, a $17 million renovation was completed which added an auxiliary gym, a theatre, administrative wing, kitchen and indoor corridor to connect the 400 Building. (CMCSS Operations)

Austin Peay State University alumni create Christopher C. Wyatt, Jonathan W. Wyatt Endowment to benefit APSU students

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – William (Bill) H. Wyatt (’70) and Victoria (Vicki) Brinkley Wyatt (’70) recently made a contribution to the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Foundation to establish the Christopher C. Wyatt and Jonathan W. Wyatt Endowment to benefit APSU students.

Bill and Vicki graduated from APSU in 1970. Their sons, Christopher and Jonathan, were both alumni of the University as well. The family has long supported Austin Peay State University.
