Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Ninth Graders to get a Reality Check

Montgomery County, TN – For the second year, ninth graders in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System are going to get a reality check.
The Reality Check Program, which was underwritten by a grant from Bank of America, is a real life simulation activity designed to give students the opportunity to experience the responsibilities of a 25-year-old and providing sole or primary support of their household.
Riverfest partners with F.U.E.L to help collect food for children in Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – Riverfest is excited to partner with F.U.E.L., a food subsidization program, by serving as a collection site for food donations, September 7th and 8th, 2012 at McGregor Park.
F.U.E.L (Full of Emmaus Love), is designed to feed children whose only food source may be the food they are receiving at school by collecting donations, bagging them and distributing to schools to place in children’s back packs each Friday. The program currently services 1800 children in the Clarksville Montgomery School System. [Read more]
Carmel Elementary Community Open House August 19th

The school is located on the corner of Sango Road and Dixie Bee Road.
Northwest High School renovation project moving forward

Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Board of Education will vote on the $15.4 million construction resolution for the proposed renovation of Northwest High School at its 7:00pm meeting tonight.
The high school opened in the fall of 1970 and the project will include significant upgrades, with a focus on safety and security.
Clarksville Christian School Adds School Counselor

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Christian School is pleased to announce the addition of a school guidance counselor, Mrs. Yvette Childs. Mrs. Childs received her Bachelor of Science degree in Middle School Education and her Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from Murray State University.
She has nine years experience as an educator, including five years as a teacher in the middle grades, and four years as a middle school counselor with the Clarksville Montgomery County School System.
Clarksville Student Eric Phillips Wins New Car in Fourth Annual Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Pass and Go Program

Clarksville, TN – The fourth annual Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Pass and Go Program, sponsored by Wyatt Johnson Automotive Group and Premier Medical Group, culminated this evening with a Northwest High School graduate winning a brand new car.
Eric Phillips, who passed four Advanced Placement exams, was the winner in this year’s event.
CMCSS Bus Routes now available Online

Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County School System has made the Bus Routes available online as of Friday, July 27th.

Clarksville Montgomery County School System Teachers receive $20,000 Grant from Dow Corning Foundation

Clarksville, TN – The Dow Corning Foundation has approved a $20,000 grant to Clarksville-Montgomery County School System to fund the Teacher Extern Program, started this summer with 10 local industries, including Hemlock Semiconductor Group’s Clarksville site.
The program partners math and science teachers from CMCSS with engineers and industry professionals to better understand real life application of the subject they teach.

Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County School System earned bragging rights as the Tennessee Department of Education announced student performance on the 2012 Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program.
CMCSS has improved in achievement proficiency in all subject areas and grades, with the exception of U.S. History, which remains at an exceptionally high 97 percent proficient. [Read more]
