Tonight is West Creek Elementary’s Kick-off for Family Reading Night. It is also National Family Day. Knowledge is ‘PowerSchool’ for CMCSS Parents, Students
August 17, 2010
Instead of signing the dotted line, parents and guardians of CMCSS students should be prepared to just sign on beginning with the first progress report of the year on August 27th. The School System introduced PowerSchool three years ago as an online tool for students and parents to get up-to-date student academic information.
Beginning this school year all progress reports and 9 week grade reports will be available online through PowerSchool, which provides secure and important information about student academic progress. If a parent does not have internet access, hard copies may be requested from a school. Parents who already have a PowerSchool “parent” password, will log into the system for the first time this school year by clicking on “Create an Account” and then follow the directions. The link is https://powerschool.cmcss.net/public/. [Read more]

Volunteers Needed – Teacher’s Warehouse
July 26, 2010
Teacher’s Warehouse – A free store for teachers
The burden falls on teachers when kids don’t have supplies…..
Many Montgomery County School children cannot afford lunch, much less basic school supplies and studies indicate that the average teacher spends between $ 500 and $ 1,000 of his or her own money to buy supplies for their students. Countywide the school budget has been slashed dramatically and there is a great need for student and teacher support.
Help support the “Teachers Warehouse”, providing a unique means to transfer donated, value purchased and created products from businesses and individuals free to teachers for use in school classrooms.
