Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park, the City of Clarksville’s free, outdoor movie series, continues on Saturday, August 19th, 2017 with the showing of “Space Jam” at Liberty Park’s amphitheater, 1188 Cumberland Drive.
Pre-show activities, coordinated by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, will begin at 6:00pm.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation department will host the seventh-annual Clarksville Sportsfest from 10:00am to 1:00pm, Saturday, August 19th, 2017 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center in Liberty Park, 1188 Cumberland Drive.
Sportsfest offers a variety of sports, athletic and outdoor activities for the entire family.
Get ready for the Riverfest Regatta

Fan favorite is back for the eleventh year
Clarksville, TN – Sailors of all kinds are invited to enter the 11th annual Riverfest Regatta, presented by US Bank, at McGregor Park on Saturday, September 9th, 2017.
The Regatta is no ordinary boat race. Individuals and teams will compete in boats made of cardboard, plastic bottles, or other approved materials. Movies in the Park to feature APSU PeayClipse talk on “Total Solar Eclipse: Nature’s Stellar Coincidence”

Clarksville, TN – As part of the ongoing PeayClipse lecture series, Austin Peay State University senior physics student Jacob Robertson will present a talk titled, “Total Solar Eclipse: Nature’s Stellar Coincidence.”
The talk will take place at 7:00pm, Saturday, August 19th, 2017 in Liberty Park, prior to the evening’s featured film, “Space Jam.”
City of Clarksville to hold Urban Wilderness meeting August 22nd

Clarksville Mayor, Parks Director to discuss project with neighbors
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Parks Director Jennifer Letourneau will meet with neighbors from around the proposed Urban Wilderness park in Midtown Clarksville to discuss the project.
The City officials will make a brief remarks and then take questions and comments about the proposal. The meeting, sponsored by neighborhood organizations, will be at 6:30pm, Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017 at Hilldale Methodist Church.

Clarksville, TN – Registration is going on now for the Eleventh Annual Riverfest Regatta. Participants can enter as an individual or as a team for a chance to win award. The Riverfest Regatta will take place Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at the McGregor Park boat ramp. New this year, the event will take place at 1:00pm instead of early in the morning like in past races.

Clarksville, TN – The Mayor’s Summer Night Lights, hosted by Clarksville Parks and Recreation, is nearing the end of its fifth successful season.
This program strives to create a fun atmosphere that offers youth and teens a positive way to spend time during the summer. Each night features a healthy meal provided by a local food charity, a variety of activities including a DJ, sports tournaments, arts & crafts, inflatables, health and job information booths, motivational speakers, and special guests.
