Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The 39th Annual Queen City Road Race, scheduled for Saturday, May 6th, is quickly approaching and there is still time to register in person or online.

Online registration can be completed at www.cityofclarksville.com/parksrec and is available until noon on Friday, May 5th. Participants registering in person may come by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Office, 102 Public Square, through Friday, May 6th or register onsite at Austin Peay’s Foy Center the morning of Saturday, May 6th.

Clarksville’s Valleybrook Park to get new Playgrounds

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Valleybrook Park, a neighborhood green space on Crossland Avenue near downtown, will be getting a $447,000 facelift thanks to a federal grant secured by the City of Clarksville.

Improvements include two new playgrounds, a new restrooms, a new pavilion, conversion of the current restrooms to an additional pavilion, and repaving of the parking lot.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the Friends of Fort Defiance will host this year’s March to the Past living history event from 10:00am to 3:00pm: Saturday, May 6th  at the Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center, 120 Duncan Street.

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – A group of Clarksville Academy students worked with Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department staff Friday to assemble 20 new BCycles for two new bike-share stations coming to Clarksville later this spring.

CTS to offer free summer rides for youth

Program will provide access to parks, pools and activities

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Transit System and the City of Clarksville are offering free summer transportation to young people to help them engage in summer jobs and enrichment programs.

CTS will offer the Summer Youth Free Ride Program from May 30th  to August 31st to youth 18 and under with a valid CTS Youth or Student ID.

Clarksville Transit Service will offer free bus rides for youth 18 and under this summer, allowing more opportunity for youngsters to get to work and summer activities.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – On Saturday, April 8th, 2017 the Clarksville Parks and Recreation held their 5th annual Wettest Egg Hunts at the New Providence pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.

There were inflatables for everyone to enjoy as well as face painting, egg dyeing and a not so typical egg hunt. The Easter Bunny also was seen hopping around.

Movies in the Park is Back Again

Movies in the Park - Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park, the city’s free, outdoor movie series, will celebrate its 12th season as it kicks off on Saturday, May 27th with the showing of Finding Dory (G) at Heritage Park!

The season begins with the first two showings at Heritage Park, 1241 Peachers Mill Road, followed by the next two showings at McGregor Park’s North Extension (behind O’Charley’s), 640 North Riverside Drive.
