This weeks highlights include: Select City Pools Remain Open through Labor Day, Riverfest, Fall Family Campout, and Just Ordinary Exercise.
Riverfest to feature “Earth Explorers” Kids’ Area

Clarksville, TN – The Kids’ Area at Riverfest is the perfect place to bring kids of all ages. They’ll enjoy interactive games and exhibits, hands-on learning activities, and some giant inflatables! Everyone is sure to love the new 2015 theme: “Earth Explorers” as they explore over 20 different local vendors and cultural groups.
The Riverfest Kids’ Area is located at the North Extension of McGregor Park (behind O’Charleys) and is open Friday, September 11th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday, September 12th from 10:00am to 8:00pm. Performances will take place every hour on Saturday.

Back to the Future Retro Double Feature showing at Movies in the Park

Clarksville, TN – Get your flux capacitor ready. Movies in the Park is traveling back to the 1980s with a retro double feature of Back to the Future and Back to the Future Part II on Saturday, August 29th presented by the City of Clarksville and Convergys.
In the original Back to the Future, small-town California teen Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is thrown back into the ’50s when an experiment by his eccentric scientist friend Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) goes awry. In the sequel, Marty McFly visits the year 2015 but must repeat his visit to 1955 to prevent disastrous changes to 1985, without interfering with his first trip.
Human foosball tournament coming to Riverfest

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Miller Lite are proud to announce a new event at this year’s Riverfest celebration. The first ever Human Foosball Tournament in Clarksville will be at the Festival this year!
The human foosball tournament scheduled to take place from 10:00am to 8:00pm on Saturday, September 12th will be played on a life-size court, set up exactly like a foosball table.

New session of Archery to be offered at the Kleeman Center this September

Fort Defiance to host Civil War Recruitment Day

Clarksville, TN – Experience history in action at the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center’s Civil War Recruitment Day on Saturday, August 29th from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Come spend the day as re-enactors conduct a historical “recruiting” event. Throughout the day children can visit the Commanding Officers to enlist into either the Confederate or Union Armies, drill with the soldiers before receiving their “discharge” papers.
Movies in the Park continues at Liberty Park with Guardians of the Galaxy
