Clarksville Downtown Market to close early Saturday due to heat

Clarksville, TN – Due to the forecasted extreme heat and humidity, the Clarksville Downtown Market will close at noon on Saturday, July 25th.
Customers are also advised to leave their dogs at home. Asphalt gets very hot and can burn your pet’s paws.
The Clarksville Downtown Market is open every Saturday beginning at 8:00am on Public Square.
There are several ways to stay informed on what’s “fresh” each Saturday at the Market.
Last Concert of Summer Liberty Live Series August 7th

Clarksville, TN – The Liberty Live summer concert series returns for the final concert of the series at Liberty Park on Friday, August 7th! The last concert in the series will feature the alternative rock group, Darling Parade.
Admission is free but concessions will be available for purchase. The show is set to begin at 6:30pm at Liberty Park.
Section of Clarksville Greenway to Close for Electrical Maintenance Beginning Monday

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Department of Electricity will be conducting electrical line maintenance on a section of the Clarksville Greenway beginning Monday, July 27th, 2015 through Wednesday, July 29th, 2015.
The partial closure will include the trail to the right of the Pollard Road trail head. The trail to the left of the Pollard Road trail head will remain open to the public.

“Nashville” star Charles Esten to headline Riverfest

Clarksville, TN – Riverfest, presented by the City of Clarksville and Miller Lite, is pleased to announce Charles Esten of television’s hit series “Nashville” will be the featured headliner at the 2015 Festival. Charles Esten will take the main stage as the headlining event on Saturday, September 12th, 2015 at 9:00pm. The concert is free and open to the public.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Charles “Chip” Esten was raised in Alexandria, VA and attended T.C. Williams High School, made famous in the film “Remember the Titans.”

Clarksville Downtown Market will close early Saturday, July 18th due to heat

Clarksville, TN – Due to the forecasted extreme heat and humidity, the Clarksville Downtown Market will close early on Saturday, July 18th.
The Clarksville Downtown Market will be open from 8:00am to noon on Public Square. Get a head start on your holiday shopping as the North Pole invades the Market this Saturday. Not only will the Market be decked out in Christmas décor, but vendors will be selling Christmas items, too.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces “The Book of Life” wins Movies in the Park people’s choice Movie

Clarksville, TN – After weeks of collecting votes, Clarksville Parks and Recreation is excited to announce, “The Book of LIfe” as the people’s choice winner. The movie will be shown Saturday, August 1st at Liberty Park.
This is the fifth year Movies in the Park collected votes for a “people’s choice” movie night. Votes were collected online at www.cityofclarksville.com/movies . The movie with the most votes won.
Clarksville Police and Clarksville Parks & Recreation strive to “Bridge the Gap” with Summer Night Lights program

Clarksville, TN – In recent months, many communities have experienced unease between their police force and the community.
This however, is not the case in Clarksville where Parks and Recreation is joining forces with the Clarksville Police Department to bring forth “Bridging the Gap Week” as a part of the Mayor’s Summer Night Lights program on Monday, July 20th at the Kleeman Community Center and Wednesday, July 22nd at Summit Heights from 5:30pm to 9:00pm each night. Free food and drinks will be provided!
