Meals to be served at Summer Youth Program sites
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is participating in the Summer Food Service Program throughout the duration of the City’s Summer Youth Program.
At 14 of the 15 program sites (all sites excluding Crow Recreation Center) meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, and reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service (not all prohibited bases apply to all programs).

Clarksville Parks and Recreation will cut ribbon Thursday morning
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation invites the public to a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the installation of new playground equipment.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 9:00am on Thursday, June 7th, 2018 at Bel-Aire Park, a neighborhood green space on Marie Drive off of Peachers Mill Road.
Clarksville Parks & Recreation and TWRA to hold annual Youth Fishing Rodeo at Liberty Park on June 9th

Clarksville, TN – The 2018 Free Fishing Day is this Saturday, June 9th, 2018 when anyone may fish free without a license in Tennessee’s public waters.
TWRA and Clarksville Parks and Recreation will be holding their annual Youth Fishing Rodeo at Liberty Park’s pond on Saturday, June 9th, 2018 from 7:00am to 9:00am. Hot Dogs and Drinks will be available.
Over 300 participants are expected. The age limit for the event is 0 to 16 years of age.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation will host Road to Riverfest, an outdoor concert series featuring live music, food and beer at Liberty Park during the three months leading up to Riverfest, Clarksville’s award winning festival.
Now in its 31st year, Riverfest is Clarksville’s longest running community festival and brings more than 30,000 people to the banks of the Cumberland River in an arts and recreation celebration.

Youths invited to enjoy food, games, crafts and sports
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan invites Clarksville youths to join in a summer program filled with fun activities and free food designed to help them fight summertime boredom.
The sixth season of the Mayor’s Summer Night Lights program will kick off June 4th and continue at various locations throughout the summer with DJs, athletic competitions, arts and crafts, local music performances, and more.
Clarksville to dedicate Pat Head Summitt Legacy Plaza on June 15th

Pat Head Summitt Statue, life-story display will be unveiled at Freedom Point
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville civic volunteers will achieve their goal of honoring Pat Head Summitt, hometown hero and legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach, with the dedication of the Pat Head Summitt Legacy Plaza at Freedom Point next month.
A bronze statue of Coach Summitt and an interpretative display of her life story will be dedicated at 3:00pm Friday, June 15th, 2018 in Clarksville’s Liberty Park. The public is invited to the event, which will include introductions of sculptor Brett Grill, members of Pat Head Summitt’s family, dignitaries and committee members, followed by a keynote speech and unveiling of the statue.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for summer with a full schedule of camps and programs for youths of all ages. Parents are reminded that registration numbers are limited for all camps, so register early.

Heritage Park will host free movie screening, vendors and fun
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park, Clarksville’s free, outdoor movie series will celebrate its 13th season as it kicks off on Saturday, May 26th, 2018 with the showing of “Wonder Woman” at Heritage Park, 1241 Peachers Mill Road.
Pre-show activities, coordinated by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, will begin at 6:30pm.
Clarksville Downtown Market opens Saturday, May 26th

Clarksville, TN – The 2018 Clarksville Downtown Market will open Saturday, May 26th, 2018 with more than 80 vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, milk, home décor, seasonal flowers and entertainment for all ages.
The Clarksville Downtown Market will be open from 8:00am to 1:00pm on Saturdays through October 13th on Public Square.
Enjoy live music, meet our Market mascot, “Corny the Cob,” and experience special events on select market days.
