Clarksville Parks and Recreation offers Two Fall BCycle Tours

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s popular bike-sharing system, Clarksville BCycle, will host two fall bike tours that will provide riders a great way to discover Downtown.

Both tours will be led by William Parker, Historical Interpreter at Fort Defiance Interpretive Center & Civil War Park. Each participant will be provided a BCycle and a safety vest. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bicycle helmet.

Movies in the Park season concludes with pair of Star Wars Movies

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s free, outdoor movie series Movies in the Park concludes Saturday, October 14th, 2017 with the showing of “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One” at Liberty Park’s amphitheater, 1188 Cumberland Drive.

Pre-show activities, coordinated by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, will begin at 5:00pm.

New Providence Pool opens for indoor season October 1st

Indoor facility offers swim lessons, fitness classes and special events

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s New Providence Pool, the only public indoor pool in the City of Clarksville, opens for its fall and winter indoor season on Sunday, October 1st, 2017.

New Providence Pool is at 168 Cunningham Lane, off Fort Campbell Boulevard. The pool offers swim lessons, water fitness classes, lap swim, and open swimming through May.

Breast Cancer Awareness Event to be held at Kleeman Recreation Center

Distinguished Steppers UnlimitedClarksville, TN – On Saturday, September 30th, 2017 the Distinguished Steppers Unlimited (DSU) of Clarksville will kick-off this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a visual reminder of the importance breast health, early breast cancer detection and treatment.

The highlight of this event has been to assemble and trim a tree beautifully adorned in pink in recognition of the many breast cancer survivors and in memory of those who lost their fight with this disease. This year the group will continue the tradition of assembling a display at the Kleeman Recreation Center, this year’s reception event site.

The Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer a co-ed youth basketball league for boys and girls ages 7 to 15.
