Parents are reminded that registration numbers are limited for all camps, so register early.
Movies in the Park returns May 27th

Clarksville, TN – Movies in the Park, the City of Clarksville’s free, outdoor movie series, will celebrate its 12th season as it kicks off on Saturday, May 27th at Heritage Park, 1241 Peachers Mill Road, with the showing of “Finding Dory.”
Pre-show activities, coordinated by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, will begin at 6:30pm.
“Fresh Research, New Discoveries” continues at Fort Defiance

Clarksville, TN – Learn more about Clarksville’s Fort Defiance as members of the Austin Peay State University History Club present new research related to the historical site at the fort’s newest event, “Fresh Research, New Discoveries” on Saturday, May 27th, 2017.
Presentations will take place from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, 120 Duncan Street.
Mayor’s Summer Night Lights provides free fun for young people

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is excited to invite young people in the Clarksville community to a summer program filled with free food and fun activities designed to help young people fight the summertime blues and boredom.
The fifth season of the Mayor’s Summer Night Lights program will kick off June 5th with 5-on-5 basketball tournaments and continue at various locations throughout the summer with DJs, athletic competitions, arts and crafts, local music performances and even a step show featuring fraternities and sororities from Austin Peay State University.
Clarksville Downtown Market to open May 20th

Clarksville, TN – When the 2017 Clarksville Downtown Market opens on Saturday, May 20th, 2017 approximately 80 vendors will be on hand to offer fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, milk, home décor, seasonal flowers and more.
Clarksville Downtown Market will be open from 8:00am to 1:00pm on Saturdays through October 14th on Public Square.
Opening Day of the Market also will feature entertainment by Hank Baker and Hui Hawaii O Tenesi Hawaiian Civic Club; activities for children provided by this year’s Market sponsor, Season’s Market and Bump & Rump; free health screenings, courtesy of Medical Direct Care; and market tote giveaways provided by Altra Federal Credit Union.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the Clarksville Area YMCA have partnered again to host Sunrise Yoga every Wednesday and Friday morning at Liberty Park.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Community Centers to add Adaptive Programming

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation community centers will be adding adaptive programming thanks to a $2,500 grant received by the Clarksville Association for Down Syndrome.
The grant was awarded by the “Healthy Middle TN: Meaningful Improvements Designed Through Networks” program, which enhances local and regional health initiatives that link economic development and business with health, education and human services organizations.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation to hold Float the River on May 20th

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation will host another float event for canoe and kayak enthusiasts at 7:30am Saturday, May 20th, 2017.
Participants will float approximately 2 miles on the West Fork Red River from Robert Clark Park to Billy Dunlop Park.
City of Clarksville opens two new B-Cycle stations

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan cut a ribbon Monday to open one of Clarksville’s two new bike share stations.
The ceremony, at the Pollard Road trailhead on the Clarksville Greenway, included Clarksville Academy students, Community Health Foundation board members and Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department leaders.
A second new station, at Public Square and Franklin Street in Downtown Clarksville, also opened Monday.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation hosts event series for dog-lovers
