Riverfest Cardboard Boat Regatta Registration open for Interested Teams
Clarksville, TN – Registration is now open for the annual Riverfest Cardboard Boat Regatta sponsored by Water Dogs Scuba & Safety LLC. The event will be on Saturday, September 11thm 2021 at the McGregor Park Boat Ramp at 1:00om.
Teams will build their vessel out of cardboard and race 100 yards down the Cumberland River. Awards will be presented based on boat design, boat aesthetics, team unity, costumes, and the infamous Titanic Award.
Fort Defiance Civil War Park to have Fortification Expert speak August 15th

Clarksville, TN – Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center will host a new event, The Bones of Fort Defiance, at 1:00pm Sunday, August 15th, 2021. No registration or fees are required.
John R. Weaver II, a fortification expert, will provide a historical lecture about the construction of Fort Defiance, the various components of the fort, and how they would have worked together in battle.
The presentation will be followed by a walking tour of the fort.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Generation Radio to headline 2021 Riverfest

Band of all-stars will rock the Riverfest main stage at McGregor Park
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Park and Recreation Department today announced that Generation Radio, a supergroup featuring legendary musicians from Rascal Flatts, Journey and Chicago, will be the featured act at the 33rd annual Riverfest celebration at McGregor Park.
This year’s festival, back after a pandemic-related hiatus in 2020, will be September 9th-11th.
Clarksville holds annual Independence Day Celebration

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville hosted its annual Independence Day celebration at Liberty Park on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 with music, food trucks, lots of vendors and activities, and a fantastic fireworks show to end the evening.
Thousands came out to participate in the free event hosted by Clarksville Parks and Recreation. Gates opened at 5:00pm and music began at 6:45pm. This year’s opening act was Jay Ammo. “He is excellent,” Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Event Planning Supervisor, Kali Mayes said. “Jay is a local talent, currently in the military and stationed at Fort Campbell. He is celebrating his fifth anniversary of coming to America from Guyana.”
City of Clarksville to hold Job Fair on June 17th

CTS to offer free summer rides for youth

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System (CTS) and the City of Clarksville are offering free summer transportation to young people to help them engage in summer jobs and enrichment programs.
CTS will offer the Summer Youth Free Ride Program from June 1st to August 31st to youth 18 and under with a valid CTS Youth or Student ID.

Guests are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 24th, 2020, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s Movies in the Park presented by Kyrstin Frate with Keller Williams will take place for the final time of 2020 at Liberty Park Athletic Field.
Disney’s 2019 release “The Lion King” will be the movie, and activities will begin at 4:00pm, followed by the movie at sunset, which is around 6:15pm.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Halloween Event at Fort Defiance

Clarksville, TN – On Friday, October 30th, 2020, prepare yourself for haunting historical tales of woe and terror! Fort Defiance will be hosting their annual Halloween at the Fort from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The event is recommended for ages 8 and over.
Visitors are invited to gather around the bonfire and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while listening to local ghost stories.
“Clarksville and the surrounding areas have a rich history of Native Americans, the Civil War, and more,” said William Parker, the Historical Interpreter at Fort Defiance.

Health and safety of citizens remains a top priority
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is adapting their annual Halloween event, Fright on Franklin, into a drive-thru trick-or-treating experience due to the ongoing COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
Fright on Franklin Liberty Park presented by Altra Federal Credit Union will be held from 1:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday, October 31st, 2020. Visitors will experience Halloween throughout Liberty Park as numerous local businesses distribute candy along the route. Visitors are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes but will not be allowed to leave their vehicles.
