50K Tree Day has been rescheduled

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s 50K Tree Day event, originally scheduled for Saturday, February 21st, will now take place on Saturday, March 14th from 10:00am to 11:00am at Billy Dunlop Park and Valley Brook Park.
Fort Defiance Interpretive Center’s Surrender of Clarksville event has been cancelled

Clarksville, TN – The Fort Defiance Interpretive Center’s living history event to commemorate the 153rd anniversary of the Surrender of Clarksville has been cancelled.
The event, originally scheduled for Saturday, February 21st at 10:00am will not be rescheduled.
Registration is now open for the 37th Annual Queen City Road Race

Clarksville, TN – It’s that time of year again to lace up those running shoes and begin preparing for the 37th Annual Queen City Road Race scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, 2015.
The Queen City Road Race event is a Clarksville tradition promoting fitness and fun for all ages. The 7K and 5K race route takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, beginning at Austin Peay State University’s Foy Center and ending inside the new Governors Stadium, while the One Mile Movement takes you on an exciting tour of a portion of the APSU campus.
For over thirty years, hundreds of Clarksville-Montgomery County and Fort Campbell school students, teachers and family members have participated in this Clarksville tradition.
2015 Clarksville Downtown Market Vendor applications are now available

Clarksville, TN – Do you want to sell your homegrown or homemade items this summer? The Clarksville Parks and Recreation is now accepting applications for 2015 Downtown Market vendors!
Applications are available online at www.cityofclarksville.com/downtownmarket and must be submitted no later than April 3rd. Potential vendors may complete the form online or download a printable version to be submitted to 102 Public Square.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to host community clean-up at the Clarksville Greenway

Clarksville, TN – Come on out and help the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department maintain one of Clarksville’s treasures! A community clean-up at the Clarksville Greenway, located at 1101 Pollard Road, will take place Saturday, March 21st from 8:00am until 10:00am.
Anyone interested in participating in the Greenway clean-up should contact Melissa Adkins at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department, or meet at the Clarksville Greenway at 8:00am on March 21st.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation offers a Boating Safety Class

Clarksville, TN – Have you recently decided on purchasing a boat, or do you want to brush up on the safety precautions of boating? Come join Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit in the new boating safety class.
This class is good for all types of boats, motorized and non-motorized, and open to ages 12 and up. This class will cover topics such as the importance of wearing life jackets, safe boating practices, the right boat for you, the correct use of a VHF Radio, lines and knots, weather, and more.
Clarksville’s Chocolate Affair a Sweet Indulgence

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, February 7th, Clarksville Parks and Recreation along with Planters Bank held the 3rd annual Chocolate Affair at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center located at 1190 Cumberland Drive.
Those in attendance had the opportunity to sample products from local vendors, restaurants and groceries. It was a festive event with everyone all smiles as they indulged in chocolate delights.
Indoor Aquatic Center to host another Homeschool Swim Day

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is ready to welcome homeschooled children back for the next Homeschool Swim Day at the Indoor Aquatic Center, on Wednesday, February 11th!
Homeschool Swim Days are held from 10:00am to noon on the second Wednesday of each month.
