Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation has once again teamed up with American Twisters Tumbling to bring a tumbling camp to the community during the Clarksville Montgomery County School System spring break!
Camp will be held March 9th-12th at 438 Kelly Lane, from 10:00am until 2:00pm, for ages 6-16.
An Affair with Chocolate—Fabulous Fun!

Clarksville, TN – It was my first visit to Chocolate Affair sponsored by Planters Bank and the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department. At a cost of a mere $15.00, it was the bargain of the year. Seventeen vendors gave every attendee at least one piece of superb chocolate—and what a variety of treats!
Magician Russ Nowack startled chocolate eaters with appearing and disappearing coins and other mind-boggling feats. D J Folley of Big Fish Entertainment kept the music lively as kids in the audience showed off their moves.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Fly Fishing program for youth and teens is back

Clarksville, TN – Do you like fishing? Are you interested in aquatic environments? Clarksville Parks and Recreation has once again teamed up with the National Fishing in Schools Program to offer a class in basic fly fishing!
Class will be held at the Crow Community Center on Thursdays from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, March 5th through March 26th, and is open to grades 6-12.
Clarksville Downtown Market vendor applications to be available soon

Clarksville, TN – Vendors, it is almost time to apply for this year’s season of the Clarksville Downtown Market! Beginning February 17th, vendor applications will be available at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation main office, located at 102 Public Square or online at www.clarksvilledowntownmarket.com .
The 2015 market season will take place downtown on Public Square, Saturdays from 8:00am to 1:00pm, beginning May 16th through October 10th.

Registration underway for Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Recreation Leagues

Clarksville, TN – Registration is underway for the Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Youth Recreation Leagues. Participants can register through March 27th at any of our community centers, the Parks and Recreation Main office as well as online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com.
The baseball, softball and t-ball leagues are open to youth ages 5 to 14. Birth certificates are required at registration to verify the child’s age.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to commemorate the 153rd Anniversary of the Surrender of Clarksville at the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center February 21st

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, February 21st from 10:00am to 4:00pm, the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street, will host a living history event to commemorate the 153rd anniversary of the Surrender of Clarksville.
Come see uniformed Civil War re-enactors from Baxter’s Battery who will provide living history and musket firing demonstrations.
