Clarksville Civitan Club honored local Heroes at Public Safety Awards Luncheon

Clarksville, TN – Local heroes were honored by the Clarksville Civitan Club at their Public Safety Awards Luncheon on Wednesday.
The annual event recognizes heroic first responders who went above and beyond to save lives, rescue residents from fires, capture dangerous criminals, and provide medical services under difficult and traumatic circumstances.
The honorees work for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the Clarksville Police Department (CPD), the Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services (MCEMS), the Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Service (MCVFS), and Clarksville Fire Rescue (CFR).
Clarksville Citizens Police Academy to hold 1st Annual Gospel Christmas Concert December 12th

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, December 12th, 2015 at 3:00pm, the 1st Annual Gospel Christmas Concert, sponsored by the Citizens Police Academy, will be held at the City of David Christian Center located at 1790 Woodlawn Road in Clarksville. Doors open at 2:30pm.
Admission is free and donations are accepted. All donations raised will go to the Citizens Police Academy in support of the Clarksville Police Department.
Clarksville’s Riverfest Regatta brings excitement to Festival

Clarksville, TN – Truly one of the most unique, fun, events at Clarksville’s Riverfest is the Regatta boat race. Unlike other boat races, participants in the Regatta compete in boats made from cardboard, plastic bottles and other approved materials.
The race kicked off at 10:00am at the McGregor boat dock. Competitors raced 100 yards on the Cumberland River to the finish line.

This however, is not the case in Clarksville where Parks and Recreation is joining forces with the Clarksville Police Department to bring forth “Bridging the Gap Week” as a part of the Mayor’s Summer Night Lights program on Monday, July 20th at the Kleeman Community Center and Wednesday, July 22nd at Summit Heights from 5:30pm to 9:00pm each night. Free food and drinks will be provided!
Clarksville’s Independence Day Celebration

Clarksville, TN – Live music, games, great food and of course fireworks were the highlight of the City of Clarksville’s eighth annual Independence Day Celebration at Liberty Park held Friday, July 3rd, 2015.
“Tonight is our July 3rd Independence Day celebration,” stated Clarksville Parks and Recreation Special Events Supervisor Jessica Goldberg. “We have great music and lots of food. It’s just a great family event.”
Clarksville Police Department holds Inaugural 5k Run/Walk for C.O.P.S.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department hosted a 5k Run/Walk on Saturday, May 9th at the Clarksville Police Department Headquarters located at 135 Commerce Street. The entry fee was $25.00 and included a t-shirt. Kids 10 & under was $10.00 (did not include a shirt).
“I wanted to hold a community participation event,” stated CPD Captain Scott Thornton. “It will be timed with a digital clock, but it’s more about the community coming out and competing with the police in an event together.”
Clarksville Association of Realtors to hold 8th Annual F.U.E.L. Block Party and Fundraiser, May 2nd

Clarksville Police Department to Hold Car Seat Inspections

Citizen’s Police Academy class to begin March 17th, 2015

Clarksville, TN – Applications are available for the upcoming Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) class. The class will start on March 17th, 2015 and end on June 2nd, 2015. The CPA covers all facets of the Clarksville Police Department’s activities, from administration to tactical operations.
Citizens are given an opportunity to not only learn about the Police Department functions, but also given a chance to participate in activities such as: police vehicle operations, firearms instruction, self-defense techniques, and use of force decision-making exercises.
