Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville host 4th annual Cheers for Charity – tickets on sale now

Clarksville, TN – Looking for something fun to do? How about a wine tasting with some added flair? Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville will host the 4th annual Cheers for Charity on Saturday, April 11th at the Sango Event Center. Tickets are on sale now!
Cheers for Charity is an evening of wine tasting with a little competition! Each team, consisting of two people, will bring three bottles of the same wine.
Upon check in, two bottles are bagged and numbered for tasting. The third bottle is set aside to be awarded to the winning teams. [Read more]
Oasis Café Earns National Recognition for CMCSS

Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) will be among a small handful of districts nationwide to receive an honorable mention at the National School Boards Association Magna Awards ceremony this week.
CMCSS joined four other districts in Georgia, California, South Carolina and Louisiana in being honored for “taking bold and innovative steps to improve the lives of their students and their communities.”

APSU engineering tech department working with STEM classrooms

Clarksville, TN – On a gray January afternoon, Ihab Habib, Austin Peay State University associate professor of construction engineering technology, traveled to Nashville to inspect an elaborate waterslide. The slide’s designers—fifth grade students at Croft Middle School—crowded around Habib, eager to explain the intricacies of their project.

Indoor Aquatic Center’s March Homeschool Swim Day is coming soon

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s new event for homeschooled children at the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, is typically held on the second Wednesday of each month.
However, due to CMCSS Spring Break, the March edition of Homeschool Swim Days will be held from 10:00am to noon on Wednesday, March 18th.

CMCSS announces Administrative Appointments

Montgomery County, TN – Dr. Bryan Johnson, who is serving as director of high schools for CMCSS, has been named Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Johnson, who earned his doctorate from Trevecca Nazarene University, served as principal of Northwest High School for two years and was assistant principal of West Creek High School for two years.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation has once again teamed up with American Twisters Tumbling to bring a tumbling camp to the community during the Clarksville Montgomery County School System spring break!
Camp will be held March 9th-12th at 438 Kelly Lane, from 10:00am until 2:00pm, for ages 6-16.
Five AAU National Basketball Championships in Four Years Means Millions of Dollars For Clarksville – Montgomery County Community

Clarksville, TN – Over the next four years, Clarksville-Montgomery County will host five high economic impact AAU Basketball Championships bringing in a total of $8.9 million of revenue. The 2015 event will be held this upcoming July 10th-15th.
The community will welcome the 2015-2018 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) 10U Boy’s Basketball National Championships as well as the 2016 AAU 6th Grade Girl’s National Championships. In total, over 15,000 visitors will pass through to be a part of, or watch, the games. The 2017-2018 boy’s tournaments were recently awarded to the team at Visit Clarksville after a rigorous bid process. [Read more]

Local Coupon Book Continues In The Fifth Year To Help Clarksville Schools Raise Money and Local Families With Big Savings
Clarksville, TN – For the fifth consecutive year, The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and Education Foundation have partnered together to sponsor the City Saver Education Funding Campaign that will run now until February 13th, 2015.
Last year’s campaign raised over $200,000 for local schools and the Education Foundation.
During this year’s campaign, all Clarksville-Montgomery County elementary and middle school students will be selling the new 2015 Clarksville City Saver coupon book, which contains thousands of dollars in savings at over 200 local favorite restaurants, attractions and retail stores.
