Circuit Court Judge Kathryn Olita to speak at APSU’s summer commencement

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On Friday, August 9th, 2019, the Austin Peay State University summer Commencement keynote address will be given by Circuit Court Judge Kathryn Olita, 19th Judicial District, at 2:00pm in the APSU Dunn Center.

Olita, a Clarksville-native, attended Northeast High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Forty-four years later, that number has plummeted to about 4 percent, prompting the CBS Evening News to recently label the national teacher shortage “an education crisis.”

APSU GIS student’s road closure map unveiled on Clarksville’s new website

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – When the City of Clarksville launched its new website on April 8th, 2019 that day’s news release lauded “a fresh, easy-to-navigate and more powerful website that will enhance the city’s ability to engage and serve its citizens.” Austin Peay State University’s GIS Center helped create one of the engaging elements that lives on the city’s new homepage – an interactive map that continuously updates with road maintenance and closure information.
