Clarksville, TN – Music is a year-round business for Ken Jolly and the members of The Nightmasters, but this past Friday another of Clarksville’s favorite concert series’ kicked off. This time, in Strawberry Alley, with Jammin’ in the Alley bringing hundreds of live music fans out for an evening of great entertainment in the heart of downtown.
“We’re excited to have Henry Rives back with us tonight,” Jolly said. “He’ll be sitting in on saxophone, and we are going to just blues/rock it up as usual. We take other people’s stuff, do it our own way, and it just seems to work.”

Austin Peay State University announces APSU Bass Tournament set for May 13th

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University has announced that the 24th annual APSU Governors Bass Tournament will be held Saturday, May 13th, 2017 at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing (Tennessee) State Park. Last season’s tourney drew nearly 200 boats.
More than $12,000 dollars in prize money will be awarded. Previously, the Top 25 places earned cash prizes but now only the Top 10 places will gain monetary awards, meaning greater cash payouts, respectively, for those positions.

Nominations Open for Clarksville Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards

Clarksville, TN – The Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for three annual awards: The Ted A. Crozier Sr. Community Commitment Award, Boots to Suits: Veteran of the Year and Young Professional of the Year.
Nominations must be received at the Chamber by Friday, April 7th 3027 and winners will be announced at the Chamber’s Annual Gala on Tuesday, May 9th.

New City of Clarksville regulation limits parking near intersections

New rule prohibits parking within 25 feet of crossing streets
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Parking Commission has approved a new regulation that prohibits on-street parking within 25 feet of an intersection.
The regulation, which amends the City parking code, is designed to enhance safety and visibility near intersections, especially in subdivisions and on neighborhood streets.

A red car recently parked near Austin Peay State University appears to be in violation of a new City regulation prohibiting parking within 25 feet of an intersection.
