City of Clarksville brings free 90 minute parking to Downtown Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – Beginning on May 1st, 2012 and running through the end of June 2012, the City of Clarksville will offer free parking for 90 minutes on some downtown streets.
The 90 minute parking areas will be located on the 100 block of Franklin Street, Strawberry Alley and portions of Second Street. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – The 18th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is less than two weeks from dropping anchor.
The 2012 edition will be held Saturday, May 12th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park. Last season’s tourney was postponed one week due to high waters and flooding that enveloped the area. Despite the delay, the tourney still drew 243 boats.

Clarksville Montgomery County School Board Reviews Report Card Results

Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board reviewed the system’s results on its newly released state report card during its Tuesday work session, seeing improvements across grades, subjects and schools.
Chief Academic Officer Dr. B.J. Worthington reminded School Board members of the changes that Tennessee schools have experienced with more rigorous standards and assessments; redefined proficiency levels; a change in how results are calculated; and a state-legislated mandate that TCAP assessments count as part of students’ math and language arts grades for the second semester. APSU receives Partner Service Award from CMCSS, Chamber of Commerce

Clarksville, TN – For its many efforts to the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, Austin Peay State University was presented with the Partner Service Award on September 14th.
Local school officials and representatives with the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce presented the award during the annual Partners in Education Appreciation Breakfast at the Montgomery County Civic Hall.
