This month, Clarksville’s oldest professional theatre, the Roxy Regional Theatre, is taking audiences from Versailles to the guillotine with a stylistic and satirical retelling of the life and final days of the most famous queen of France.
A contemporary twist on a historical tale, David Adjmi’s “Marie Antoinette” opens at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Friday, April 12th, at 8:00pm.

Based on Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning coming-of-age novel about a man wrongly convicted and persecuted for a crime on the basis of his skin color, “To Kill A Mockingbird” opens at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Friday, March 8th, at 8:00pm.
In keeping with the theatre’s traditional pay-what-you-can opening night, all tickets not pre-sold at the full price will go on sale at 7:30pm that evening for a $5.00 minimum donation.

Clarksville, TN – Take a trip back in time to the not-so-distant past when flannel was the height of fashion and mix tapes were the language of love. A coming-of-age musical inspired by Matthew Sweet’s 1991 breakthrough pop/rock album of the same name, “Girlfriend” plays theotherspace at the Roxy Regional Theatre for four nights only, February 25th through March 5th.
Set in small-town Nebraska in the early ’90s, “Girlfriend” explores the relationship between two young men who appear to have little in common yet are intensely drawn together.

Clarksville, TN – Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting and occasionally angry … Eve Ensler’s wildly popular series of monologues about women and performed by women is back for the seventeenth year with the Roxy Regional Theatre’s presentation of “The Vagina Monologues”, January 18th – February 2nd.
This year, members of the theatre’s professional company and special guests from the community will take the stage of theotherspace, the 50-seat black-box theatre located upstairs at the Roxy, in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships and violence against women.

U.S. military veterans to get first priority in rental applications
Clarksville, TN – Three newly built homes in Clarksville are complete and available for rent to low-income families, with first priority going to U.S. military veterans, especially those with disabilities.
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan helped cut the ribbon Monday morning on the three homes built by Buffalo Valley Inc., in the Providence Pointe subdivision.

25th annual APSU Governors Bass Tournament set for May 12th

Clarksville, TN – Registration is now open for the 25th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament, which will be held at 6:00am, Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at Kentucky Lake.
Registration and boat launching will take place at Paris Landing State Park (Tennessee). The pre-registration fee is $120.00 (for up to two people in one boat), but after noon on May 11th, the registration fee rises to $135.00, with boats being launched by order of entry.
The tournament will begin at 6:00am, but all contestants must check in at the Paris Landing Marina between 4:00am-5:30am, with a compulsory meeting at 5:30am.
