An Affair with Chocolate—Fabulous Fun!

Clarksville, TN – It was my first visit to Chocolate Affair sponsored by Planters Bank and the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department. At a cost of a mere $15.00, it was the bargain of the year. Seventeen vendors gave every attendee at least one piece of superb chocolate—and what a variety of treats!
Magician Russ Nowack startled chocolate eaters with appearing and disappearing coins and other mind-boggling feats. D J Folley of Big Fish Entertainment kept the music lively as kids in the audience showed off their moves.

CTS offers Safe Ride on New Year’s Eve

“Operation Safe Ride” is a free service open to anyone who is too impaired to drive home. People who live within the Clarksville city limits can call 931.553.2429 for a ride home between the hours of 11:00pm and 4:00am.

Clarksville, TN – Have yourself a cynical little Christmas … David Sedaris’ hilarious one-man show “The Santaland Diaries” plays the Roxy Regional Theatre’s theotherspace for four nights only, December 8th – December 16th.
In Joe Mantello’s adaptation of Sedaris’ acclaimed satirical essay, Ryan Bowie stars as an out-of-work actor who decides to become a Macy’s elf during the holiday crunch. At first the job is simply humiliating, but once the thousands of visitors start pouring through Santa’s workshop, he becomes battle weary and cynical, occasionally taking out his frustrations on the children and parents alike.

Clarksville, TN – Originally published at the turn of the nineteenth century, Louisa May Alcott’s acclaimed story of love and family stands the test of time. This fall, the Roxy Regional Theatre presents a new version of this enduring American classic with “Little Women: The Musical”, November 7th – November 29th.
Based on Alcott’s own life and originally starring Sutton Foster and Maureen McGovern in the Broadway production, “Little Women” follows the adventures of sisters Jo (Allie McCaw), Meg (Elena Pascullo), Beth (Laura Donnelly) and Amy March (Corinne Bupp) and their experiences growing up in Civil War America.
Clarksville Beginnings: The Early History of Sevier Station – Part 1

Clarksville, TN – Have you seen the old stone building on Walker Street in the New Providence area? If not, come by and take a look at it some time. This primitive looking building, labeled “Sevier Station”, is on the National Register of Historic Places and is touted as the oldest building in Montgomery County, Tennessee.
As you walk around and gaze at the roughhewn limestone quarried from the nearby bluffs, and ponder the old chimney placed oddly in the center of the building, and consider the apparent gun port built into the east side, may you contemplate the ground upon which you are standing.
