Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre’s bonus pay-what-you-can performance of The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition is this Thursday, May 16th, 2024. All tickets not pre-sold at the regular ticket price will go on sale at 5:30pm on Thursday for a $5.00 minimum donation.

Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center holds ‘March to the Past’ Event

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 11th, 2024, from 10:00am to 3:00pm, the Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center hosted its annual “March to the Past” event. Visitors had the opportunity to step back in time and experience life during the Civil War era.
The weather was ideal, with a gentle breeze in the air.
“We couldn’t have hoped for better weather, especially considering the rain we’ve experienced in the past few days. Today was truly a blessing—a fantastic day,” William Parker, Historical Interpreter at Fort Defiance, said.

On Saturday, May 11th, 2024, from 10:00am to 3:00pm, visitors can step back in time and get a glimpse of what life was like during the Civil War era.
Partnering with The Friends of Fort Defiance, this event promises to be an immersive experience with 19th-century living history demonstrations. Attendees can witness Civil War camp life, watch musket and artillery firing by Clarksville’s own Porter’s Battery, learn about period cooking, and even participate in fun children’s activities.

Clarksville, TN – On a cloudy Saturday, May 4th, the air in Clarksville was thick with anticipation as Hilltop Supermarket held the 2024 Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook-Off. Despite the looming threat of rain, the barbecue enthusiasts gathered, their grills fired up and their aprons ready.
“The rain held off, and we had some nice weather for the cook-off. Last night was the kick-off party, and today is the actual competition. Our judges are different county officials, like the Mayor, and other local barbecue experts,” Cody Jackson with Hilltop Supermarket said.

Presented by Waterdogs SCUBA & Safety, this one-hour edition of the hit Broadway musical, brilliantly adapted from the iconic Nickelodeon series, is performed by forty-four local youth from the Roxy Regional School of the Arts, ages 8 to 18.
The culmination of four months of hard work by these talented young performers, The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition features Autumn Baldassano, Malin Barnhill, Callista Bishop, Seraphina Bishop, Willow Cambre, Alina Cantu, Elisabeth Carroccia, Aiyana Cotton, Katelyn Culligan, Joy Donalies, Kyler Fewox, Zoë Fewox, Elizabeth Fletcher, Aislyn Gann, Pluto Graham, Yara Harper, Bennet Hubbell, Elise Hubbell, Avery Johnson, Charles Joseph Jones, Phasia Karyeah, Izzy Kelly, Booker Kirby, Meridel Lahann, Marabella Lopez, Lyla Major, Cooper Maurer, Isaiah Meehan, Sophia Moore, Mia Olson, Abby Peters, William Raymond, Aaliyah Rivera, Lily Rives, Nicolas Rougemont, Colten Schafer, Natalie Shasserre, Azaylah Smith, Addy Stull, Rose Walpole, Madilyn Williams, Aria Willis, Adyson Woodring, and Malachi Wooldridge.
In this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show perfect for audiences of all ages, when the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up to show that the power of optimism really can save the world.
Directed by Emily Ruck with music direction by Travis Ulrich and choreography by Alex Vanburen and Nikki Ahlf, The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition is based on the series by Stephen Hillenburg with book by Kyle Jarrow.
The musical production was conceived by Tina Landau and features original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants, and T.I., as well as songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley, with additional lyrics by Jonathan Coulton and additional music by Tom Kitt.

Performances run May 9th through May 18th on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 6:00pm, with 2:00pm matinees on Saturday, May 11th and May 18th. Clarksville, TN – The 2024 Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook-Off commenced on Friday evening at Hilltop Supermarket in Clarksville, TN. The event started with a lively party featuring a 70s-80s Tribute Band and an array of delectable food available. Despite a drizzle earlier in the day, the weather cleared up in the afternoon, creating perfect conditions for the festivities.
“The weather worked out well. Around 10 o’clock, we were afraid, and it was still drizzling a little bit. But then the rain cleared off, and everything is great now, so I couldn’t ask for any better,” said Cody Jackson, Hilltop Supermarket.
