Major General, US Army, Commanding
CSM Schroeder and I wanted to send a note to thank you for the support you provided to our Army Families and Soldiers here at Fort Campbell. Most of our Soldiers have returned from deployment, but many remain in harm’s way. We thank you in advance for the world-class support you and the communities surrounding Fort Campbell continue to provide them and their Families.
We have continuously been impressed with the level of support between Fort Campbell and the great surrounding communities including Clarksville, Hopkinsville, Oak Grove, and other areas in Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky. Each of your communities does so much for our Soldiers and our Families which makes Fort Campbell such a desirable duty assignment for so many military Families. Upon our return from deployment, we felt we were truly coming home.

The Civil War Musical at the Roxy Theater—What a Bargain!
May 11, 2011
Clarksville, TN – Attending the Civil War Musical at Clarksville’s Roxy Theater is the biggest bargain in entertainment in Middle Tennessee! Where else can you see a professionally staged and professionally performed musical for a mere twenty dollars?
“The Civil War: A Sesquicentennial Event” is from a book by Frank Wildhorn, Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy with music by Frank Wildhorn, and lyrics by Frank Wildhorn, Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy.
What this musical accomplishes is the revelation that both Union and Confederate soldiers–many of whom literally were brothers–had identical desires and feelings going into war. Each is certain that his cause is just and worth fighting for. Slaves are portrayed suffering intense emotions as husband and wife are separated by forces outside themselves.
Celebrate the Sesquicentennial with the Musical “The Civil War” at the Roxy Regional Theatre
April 19, 2011
Clarksville, TN – Beginning Friday, April 22nd, at 8:00pm, the Roxy Regional Theatre marks the Sesquicentennial with “The Civil War”, a musical tribute covering the enormous emotional landscape of the most difficult test our nation has ever endured.
Reminiscent of Ken Burns’ acclaimed documentary, “The Civil War” puts a human face on the greatest tragedy of American history and passionately asks us to consider our beliefs about freedom, honor and faith. This thrilling, gut-wrenching and awe-inspiring musical draws on letters, diaries, firsthand accounts and the words of Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass and Walt Whitman.
The final day of Rivers and Spires starts off slow, but picks up in the end
April 18, 2011
Clarksville, TN – Due to unseasonably chilly weather and a blustery wind, the third day of Rivers and Spires looked like it was going to end with a whimper rather than a bang, the victim of the unpredictable spring weather. However as the afternoon wore on, more and more people showed up to enjoy all that the festival had to offer. “The crowd hung in even though we had monsoon winds and rains, and I think it says a lot about this festival, and how much people enjoy it” said Festival Manager Doug Barber.
