F&M Bank announces Promotions

Clarksville, TN – F&M Bank has announced the following promotions of four veteran mortgage employees, according to Sammy Stuard, bank CEO and president.
Denise Alexander, vice president and operation manager for F&M’s mortgage department has been promoted to senior vice president of F&M Bank.
Yvonne Witzler, assistant vice president and manager of F&M’s mortgage office in Clarksville has been promoted to vice president of F&M Bank.

Stocks continue to rise in First Quarter

Clarksville, TN – The three major stock indices continued to rise in the first quarter with the S&P 500 closing at a record high. Driving the S&P 500’s momentum were consumer staples and consumer discretionary stocks.
Since the S&P hit its previous closing high in October 2007, the consumer discretionary sector has gained 40.4%, while staples are up 41.3% – outperforming technology and financials. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – The Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville will be hosting their 2nd annual “Cheers for Charity” Event on Saturday, April 13th, 2013 at F&M Bank.
“Cheers for Charity” is a fundraising event held by Junior Auxiliary of Clarksville, an association of women who render charitable services to children of our community.

Making the presentation are Deneen Clayton and Shinika Jenkins, GRH loan specialists, and Don Harris, GRH Housing program director. Accepting the award for F&M are: DeWayne Olive, executive vice president and chief financial officer; Denise Alexander, vice president and mortgage operation manager; Yvonne Witzler, assistant vice president and manager for the bank’s Clarksville mortgage office; and Rodney Wilds, manager for the bank’s Brentwood mortgage office.
Clarksville-Area Chamber of Commerce hosted Fourth annual Home and Garden Show

Clarksville, TN – On February 23rd and 24th, the Clarksville-Area Chamber of Commerce held their fourth annual Home and Garden show at the Foy Fitness Center on Austin Peay State University.
The show was sponsored by the Clarksville-Area Chamber of Commerce, the Leaf Chronicle, and Furniture Connection. 57 Vendors were on hand to offer Clarksvillians tips on getting ready for the rapidly approaching spring.
Bowl for Kids’ Sake Benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – Big Brothers Big Sisters is recruiting teams for their 31st annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake. The annual fundraiser has brought the Clarksville community together to raise funds for the non-profit’s mentoring programs for many years. This event is expected to raise $80,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville.
The event will kick off on Tuesday March 5th, 2013 at The Pinnacle with the Banker’s Challenge. Area banks have competed to raise the most funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters by raising money among the branches. [Read more]

The musical is based on the 1980’s film, which starred Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin.
The musical stars Bailey Hanks as as the vivacious Doralee Rhodes; Amanda Morgan as Violet Newstead, the department supervisor; Lital Abrahams as housewife turned secretary Judy Bernly; Colin Ryan as everyone’s favorite “Sexist, Egotistical, Lying, Hypocritical Bigot” of a boss, Franklin Hart, Jr.; and Jill Twiss, as his administrative assistant and office spy Roz Keith.
