Comedy on the CumberlandClarksville, TN – One of Nashville’s hardest working comics is set to perform at Comedy on the Cumberland, December 6th at the Roxy Regional Theater. Christy Eidson presents a southern fried sense of humor with a pinch of sass and a hilarious dose of attitude.

Creating colorfully visual stories from her distinct southern point-of-view, she’s a strong female comedian who doesn’t like to be labeled as just a “Female comic.” Christy recently performed at Magic at the Museum, introducing Clarksville fans to her “in your face” style of comedy.

Comedy on the Cumberland announces the return of Brian Kiley

Comedy on the CumberlandClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s wildly popular stand up comedy series, Comedy on the Cumberland, has announced that Brian Kiley has been signed to return to Clarksville for the December show.

Held at the Roxy Regional Theater, Comedy on the Cumberland is a charity event, raising money for local organizations and providing a much needed “Night of Laughter” in Clarksville. Kiley had the audience in stitches during the July 2010 show, and promises to deliver again December 6th. Kiley is known for his good clean humor and “jabs” at his own life as a “fat man in a weight-watchers world.”

Radical Mission provides much needed assistance for those in need

Clarksville, TN – 5-1/2 years ago The Clarksville First Church of the Nazarene saw a need in our community that had to be met. They had people who would come in to the Church from the streets needing food, shelter, and other things. Out of this need emerged a new Radical Mission for the church, embracing our community through compassion, and so that is what they named it.

“People who come to us for help are Friends and neighbors first, not just clients” said Brett Smith, the Director of Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries at Clarksville First Church of the Nazarene.

Stellar Theater and Dance Performers to Visit APSU this Year as Acuff Chairs

Acuff Chair of ExcellenceClarksville, TN – For more than 50 years, Chicago’s famed Second City Theater and School of Improvisation has produced some of the country’s most beloved comedic talents. Its alumni – consisting of luminaries like Bill Murray, John Belushi, Steve Carell and Tina Fey – have gone on to successful careers in movies and television shows such as Saturday Night Live and the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

At 7:30pm on October 7th, the group’s touring company will visit Clarksville to perform its hilariously original works on the Austin Peay State University campus.

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors BureauClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce their 2011-2012 Board of Directors.

Newly elected to the board is Carolyn Pierce and reappointed to the board is Geno Grubbs; both will serve a three year term. Steven Stroman is this year’s Chairman and Geno Grubbs was elected as the Chairman elect. [Read more]
