Trio of APSU ROTC students graduates from Air Assault School

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Governors Guard ROTC sent three of its students to the Sabalauski Air Assault School at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, this summer.
Communication major Jasmine Barrios, history graduate student Brandon Dickinson and computer information systems major Jertil Robinson attended the renowned school.
Welcome Home Veterans Celebration

Clarksville, TN – The annual Welcome Home Veterans Celebration brought a busy schedule of events over a five day period, all designed to honor and celebrate our Veterans.
Activities began on Wednesday with the arrival of the American Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall, the Korean War Memorial and the 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit at Beachaven Winery. A procession actually began at Appleton Harley Davidson and traveled through town, delivering the impressive displays to their temporary location.

Fort Campbell Hanger welcome home for Vietnam veterans

Beginning at 2:00pm in Hangar 3 on Fort Campbell Army Post, the doors will swing open and our Vietnam Veterans will march in to the sounds of the Army band and cheers they have deserved for more than 40 years.
APSU Governor’s School students surprised by helicopter landing

Clarksville, TN – Governor’s School for Computational Physics at Austin Peay State University (APSU) surprised the 36 high school students attending with a rare treat this week – a surprise landing of one of the school’s helicopters.
On June 5th, 2019, just before 4:00pm former Special Operations pilot Charlie Weigandt eased one of Austin Peay’s Guimbal Cabri G2 helicopters onto the Dunn Center lawn.

Fort Campbell, KY – The 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation will host an Independence Week Carnival July 3rd-7th, 2018. The week long celebration includes an Independence Day ceremony, July 4th.
This event is free to enter and open to the public.
The Independence Day ceremony and concert starts at 6:00pm on Wednesday, July 4th and Fireworks start at 9:30pm. (weather permitting).

101st Airborne Band Cumberland Winds Brass Quintet to perform at Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library on the 12th and 13th

Clarksville, TN – The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Band will perform in the atrium of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library on Tuesday, December 12th from 6:00pm–7:00pm.
The show will feature several different types of musical groupings for an hour-long concert. Musical offerings will be holiday standards played both traditionally and with a jazzy flair and with vocal performances by band members.
APSU honoring 9/11 anniversary with community art exhibit

Clarksville, TN – This September, Austin Peay State University will commemorate the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks with a special community art project, Honoring 9/11 through Art and Art Therapy.
The program, conceived by Ken Shipley, APSU professor of art, and Melody Shipley, ceramic artist, is designed to support and engage individuals reflecting on the sacrifices of those who died on September 11th, 2001, and to honor those who rose in service and continue to serve as a result of that tragedy.
