Fort Defiance played host to a one day Civil War Artifacts Exhibit

Clarksville, TN – John and Nikki Walsh have been collecting Civil War antiquities for many years. During that time they have established a museum quality collection of historic Civil War artifacts from throughout the middle Tennessee region.
n Saturday many of these items came to Clarksville for a one-day exhibit at the Fort defiance visitors center.

Fort Defiance Interpretive Center to commemorate the 152nd Anniversary of the Surrender of Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – The Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street, will host a living history weekend to commemorate the 152nd anniversary of the Surrender of Clarksville, Saturday, February 15th from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Come see uniformed Civil War re-enactors from the 50th Tennessee Reenactment Group who will provide living history and musket firing demonstrations.
Fort Defiance Interpretive Center to hold Christmas in Occupied Clarksville December 15th

Clarksville, TN – Come to the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center Sunday, December 15th, 2013 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, to experience the holidays as soldiers and civilians did in the 1860s.
Visitors to the event will be able to step back in time and see period decorations, visit with a nineteenth century Santa, and enjoy eggnog, cakes and caroling.

Civil War Carbine Demo coming to Clarksville’s Fort Defiance Civil War Park

Clarksville, TN – A demonstration of Civil War weaponry is planned for Saturday, November 2nd, 2013, from 10:00am to 5:00pm, at the Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center.
Fort Defiance, located at 120 Duncan Street, will open at 10:00am with the first carbine demonstration taking place at 10:30am and continuing every half hour.
